I can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine aloha spirit by the owner, who went above and beyond to make us feel like ohana. His warmth, passion, and pride in the food truly set the tone for the entire experience.

The menu is a brilliant fusion of Hawaiian flavors, fresh poke, and creative twists you’d never expect—but absolutely crave afterward. Every bite was a perfect balance of bold and fresh, from the melt-in-your-mouth ahi tuna to the crispy, flavorful toppings that added just the right crunch.

We tried several signature bowls, and each one was a work of art—visually stunning and packed with flavor. There’s clearly a lot of love and attention to detail that goes into everything here.

What really made the experience stand out was the owner’s personal touch. He came by to check in on every table, offered great recommendations, and shared the inspiration behind some of the dishes. You can tell this isn’t just a business to him—it’s a passion project, and that energy is contagious.

If you’re looking for a place that serves incredible food and makes you feel truly welcome, this is it. Fusion, poke, Hawaiian soul—all in one spot. Do yourself a favor and GO!

Every dish we tried was well prepared and delicious! Fish and all other ingredients were super fresh and didn't need to be dressed with extra seasoning like soy sauce to enjoy it. Service was good and we enjoyed talking with one of the owners Quan who clearly has a passion for his restaurant. They have a special elevated menu on Friday and Saturday nights that we're looking forward to trying.

Both the signature bowl and the 3 protein DIY were good. Toppings like beets and tangerine slices are less commonly seen. Fish is pretty fresh and good quality. They have dressing for your salad base which is not common either, a nice touch!

My first time here and it was delicious. Kwan(hope I spelled it correctly) was awesome and made you feel welcome. I had the large create your own bowl with 3 proteins and and Ice cold Sapporo to top it off, it was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend anyone to come check it out when you’re in Burlingame.

Yes, go to Tuna Kahuna! Saturday evening dine in Chef's Table was fantastic. My wife and I were first timers and finally had time to try out Tuna Kahuna. It's perfect as a blend of high end-casual, well run, friendly, and amazing dishes. The quality, portions, taste and service are over the top great. It was relaxed and good vibes, kind of like being in Hawaii. I'll definitely be back. Btw, their sake and wine selections are superb and their knowledge / recommendations are dynamite spot on.

I finally made it to this poke spot I’d been eyeing for years since I saw them on Instagram —and wow, it was worth the wait. I live in San Francisco now and haven’t had the chance to come by, but while back in Burlingame for brunch with friends, I stopped in for a quick bite after brunch. I left absolutely blown away.

First off, the quality and freshness of the fish are off the charts. Every bite tasted like it had just been caught that morning—silky, clean, vibrant. It wasn’t just good for poke; this was easily some of the best sushi I’ve had in the entire Bay Area, hands down. And that includes high-end omakase spots charging over $200 a person. This place is in a league of its own when it comes to flavor, freshness, and soul.

What made the experience even more special was Clarence, one of the owners, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. He treated us to a luxurious bite of salmon belly, and it was divine—melt-in-your-mouth, buttery perfection. You can tell this is more than a restaurant; it’s a place where they treat you like family and show you love through their food. The whole place has a cozy, homey feel, like you’re being invited into someone’s kitchen rather than just ordering food. Clarence and the team clearly care deeply about their craft and their community.

If you’re ever near Burlingame—or even if you’re not—it’s absolutely worth the trip. I left full of joy, appreciation, and with a new go-to spot for when I’m in town. This place is a true gem, and I can’t wait to come back.

Tuna, Kahuna, ooo I wanna take ya.

Okay anyway... lol
Tuna Kahuna was recommended to me and Yelp Elite Dario O. by our friend, and wow oh wow! This place is 5/5/!

Located in downtown Burlingame, this poke spot is a must try!!!
They don't have a huge location, so I hope you get lucky with seating or take it to go.

The fish tasted so fresh, the fish literally melted in our mouth. From the sauces they offer, I chose Yuzu, Ponzu and Wasabi Soy. I absolutely loved the citrusy taste with a kick from the wasabi! Portions are decent. Enough to make you keep eating but also satisfy your tastebuds and belly.

Service was great. Friendly and quick with orders.

The ambiance is chill. An intimate space.

Overall, I 100% recommend this spot for poke if you're in the area! I know I for sure will be back!

We got invited by Khuong, after having our 30 year high school reunion to come check out his restaurant. Who would have thought that, a city high school kid who create and run this wonderful establishment with excellent ambiance, a superb menu, with patrons and employees all filled with smiles. And the reason why is because, some of freshest seafood, and unique flavors and dishes keep you wanting more. My kid likes tuna and salmon and can't wait to bring her to try some of this good food. I had fun there after our 30 year reunion, hanging out with Khuong, and my other friends, eating, laughing and sharing memories. Thank you for inviting us and we had a good time.

If I could give ten stars I would. This place is a stand out — I come about once per week and have to resist the temptation to come everyday. The food and service is consistently excellent. Today my food came out before I even sat down at a table, which is of huge value to a busy mom trying to squeeze lunch in while infant is napping in the stroller. Thank you Tuna Kahuna!!!

A classic poke spot. Awesome portions and fresh ingredients. Yuzu sauce was tangy and delicious. Service is amazing - you can tell the owner cares about his patrons. Vibes are also immaculate with the split poke bar and literal bar service. Definitely coming back and would recommend!
