I have been coming here for years, but I won’t be returning. The staff, particularly the woman managing the floor, are incredibly rude. I’ve never encountered such unprofessional behavior in a dining experience. While the food is decent, the disorganized waitlist and disrespectful staff make it not worth the trouble. They play favorites when seating, even if you’ve been on the waitlist before someone, they don’t go by the actual order. To top it off, a server confronted me while I was still eating about tipping only 13 percent during a previous visit instead of 20. While I am a generous person, tipping is based on service, not an obligation or expectation. Regardless, it’s completely inappropriate to approach someone MID MEAL to complain about tips. Maybe don’t be incredibly rude and offer good service along with a fair waitlist. After that incident, will never ever return.

Everybody complains about the wait. So we got there a half hour before they open and put our name in and we were seated at 5 o’clock. No biggie.
So the wait is not my complaint although there’s not a chance in hell it’s worth even a half hour wait! And based on the reviews and what I’ve heard from others, the wait is often two hours! The place is very, very small and way, way overcrowded. You have to see it to believe it. Horrible.
The food was great. Good quality. Definitely nothing to write home about. But definitely amongst the better sushi and other good places. Although they don’t have a lot of fancy stuff.
Been to a bunch of sushi bars as it’s my favorite food and I’ve had as good or better.
I like the good stuff and know the difference. So I don’t go to an all you can eat place. I go to good Sushi bars.
The chairs at the bar, without exaggerating, are may be an inch to 2 inches between each chair! The way they crowded is absolutely absurd! That in and of itself is a reason never to go back! The atmosphere sucks! Young youth, type of music, playing way too loudly so that several people complained including us.
The prices were gross! I understand, overcharging, especially nowadays. But this is gouging! I know it’s Calabasas, but I’ve eaten at fantastic sushi bars on Wilshire or in Santa Monica and I have never had a place this expensive. I know there was one high-end sushi bar that I went to off Wilshire which was close but not this expensive. Was absolutely the best quality I’ve ever had, and it was still less expensive than this place!
My favorite sushi bar is in Chatsworth, it’s expensive there too. And it’s literally $70 less than this place!

Parking: Better get there early or you will not find parking. And there is no parking nearby if you don’t get in the lot which is super small.

Great place, the rice cakes were the best. You can't make reservations, so there's usually a wait time that depends on how early you get there. Good food and drinks in a small place. Everything tastes fresh, and you can see them making it if you sit at the bar.

Reservations were managed gruffly by a greasy man tonight. He goes out of order and makes favors to people and makes the guests fight for their place in line

I recently gave Shibuya in Calabasas a second try, hoping my initial impression might have been off. Unfortunately, my experience confirmed my initial thoughts—this spot is overly hyped. I brought a Co-worker with me, and she too, confirmed my opinion. The food is just okay, nothing that stands out in terms of flavor or presentation. The location is small and can feel cramped, especially during peak hours.

One of the major downsides is the price. For what you get, it feels like you're paying more for the location than for the quality of the food. If you're willing to travel a bit, I'd recommend heading to Catch Me Sushi in Canoga Park. It offers better quality sushi with a much more reasonable wait time, all in a space that doesn’t feel so squeezed. Shibuya might be popular, but in my opinion, it's not worth the hype or the price.

I heard about this place through Rick Lox the self proclaimed food critic. With much respect I don't know how this place is his all time favorite restaurant. Yes the sushi was fabulous and for the price very impressive. However the staff, lack there of, can take a few tips on customer service. From the minute of opening the door to ger our name on the list, not being greeted isn't a great way to start off the dining experience. The wait was very long, which is to be expected and completely out of staff's control but it was just the way things were handled. A simple acknowledgement and smile isn't much to ask for.
I'll give it another shot hoping there's improvement.

This sushi place is THE BEST! the best quality sushi and the service. We come here a lot with our friends for our sushi fix and have never left disappointed. SHIBUYA always hits the spot. The place is very small, so the seating is limited so try coming at odd hours to decrease the wait time. Everything on the menu is fresh and tastes delicious.

The food was amazing but the service has been aweful!

They were busy and the place is popular, fair
But having to wait 15mn to be given glass of water and haven’t seen the waiter after that until he brought the bill.

Good Quality (ingredients & prep) is outstanding.
The waiting line is a horrible anomaly (maybe you don't wait for a table nor spot at the bar, but you really will need to consider significant waiting times (outdoors.)
But the quality & consistency of those small Sashimi or Cut-roll Plates is just about good enough to justify the high prices.
You will be CROWDED (elbow to elbow) if seated at the sushi-bar, but it seems to always take significantly longer if you wait for a table.

Parking: During prime (dinner or lunch) mealtimes, the cars rarely vacate their (?) 20 or 25 parking spots. One can be 75-ft from tht Restaurant's front door, trying to discover a parking spot that might open for you - but I've seen a car or two idling in the middle of the Shibuya lot for 20-minutes, less patient customers will honk.
Unfortunately the post office shares this parking lot
