If you want very fresh and very clean and simple sushi and sashimi, this is hands down the best place to go. With I prefer the crazy dishes with cream cheese and what not. But the ambiance at Calabasas Commons and stopping by here for a few quick bites, like a snack, it's perfect. To keep an eye out for the koi fish and the turtles outside.

From Vanessa, the hostess to Julie, the server to Jordan the manager. This place is incredible.
This is a non-tipping establishment, and I wish I could tip.
You would think that a non-tipping establishment wouldn’t have the greatest service. You would be totally wrong. Everybody that works here is wonderful and happy to work here. The quality of the sushi is excellent and the prices, even for Calabasas, were fantastic. Not over priced at all and great quality!
I found a new sushi bar! Yay!

I had the misfortune of dining at Sugarfish in Calabasas last Friday, and let me tell you, I will not be returning. We’ve gone to this location several times, mostly out of convenience since it’s close to home, and while it’s never been spectacular, this last visit was truly abysmal.

The server? He had tape holding his glasses together—yes, tape. Quite the fashion statement. The service itself was glacial. Each dish took a ridiculous 30 minutes to arrive, which meant we spent over two hours waiting and still left unsure if we even received our full order. By the time we decided to walk out, we were completely fed up.

As if that wasn’t enough, the ambiance was ruined by a table of 15-year-old girls taking endless selfies and making duck faces. It was like dining in the middle of a high school cafeteria.

Yes, Sugarfish might be known for its inexpensive sushi, but at some point, even they need to prioritize basic service and professionalism. This was a complete disappointment.

I am currently here on vacation and this was our first planned foodie stop based on previous reviews. Our party was excited to dine here. We were told the wait was approximately 30 minutes, so they took our number and we set off to waste time at the shops. An hour later we were told to return to the restaurant to see hostess and she informed us we still needed to wait? Another short wait and we were seated within breathing distance of the hostess stand and other diners. The first course was fine, we expected to be wowed with the next courses, we ordered the ‘don’t think just eat’. To say we were not impressed is an understatement. The nigiri was tasteless, bland and completely underwhelming. The service was basically dump food on table and walk away. The atmosphere was great though. The dining experience left plenty to be desired. The rice tasted like plain white rice and the fish had no flavor whatsoever. I am however impressed that they managed to remove any and all flavor from raw fish.

The place is very nice, a small drawback is that there isn't a wide variety of sushi, but it's still fine, fresh ingredients and great flavors. Great service.

I used to love going here. Half of the wait staff is great but the other half seem like they just don’t care. Sugarfish isn’t what it used to be. Not sure why but some of the waiters slam fish on the table in front of me abruptly which was not what I’m accustomed to. The last two times I was here my order got mixed up where they gave my wife and I the each others nozawa without any real acknowledgement. And last night I was given my bill before they brought out all my food and I ordered from the prefixed meal.

lots of good reviews but the sushi was really mid for the price. service wasn’t bad but not great - guess that’s what happens when tip os automatic for servers and hosts. also, there was a lil ol lady with her family who was singing happy bday (not loudly, and not bothering most patrons), and the staff were rude and asked them to leave. ? really weird place with subpar sushi

During my visit, I had the "Trust Me" menu, which included a variety of nigiri and sashimi. Each piece of sushi was expertly prepared, showcasing the natural flavors of the fish. The quality was outstanding, and the rice was perfectly seasoned.
