If you’re looking for the best sushi in Calabasas, Yumi is an absolute must! I recently visited and was blown away by the quality of the sushi and the flavor of their drinks, especially the lychee martini, which was delicious and refreshing. The ambience is modern and chic, making it a perfect spot for a stylish lunch or a fancy dinner date. The decor is beautiful, the service is great, and the overall experience was top-notch. Highly recommend Yumi for anyone searching for a great sushi restaurant in Calabasas! The Salmon Karpachio is a must.
Nice atmosphere, great service. Very loud, and in my opinion, too expensive for what it was.
This sushi restaurant is super chic and stylish. From the outside, it might look small or closed, but once you walk in, it has a really nice and cozy vibe. I tried a few different sushi rolls, and they were all fresh and tasty. One thing I love is that it’s open until 11 PM, which is great since most places nearby close much earlier. They have valet parking, and sometimes you can even find free parking on the street. If you like sushi or just want a cool place to hang out with good drinks, I totally recommend checking it out!
Great place
First, I commend the service of this place. Very friendly and accommodating. Service is pretty fast. We went for their lunch specials. Totally worth the price! Nice date place.
Way overpriced for something that is not special, adequate and dare I say not great tasting. Save your money, and pick one of the many other options. You will be happier with the money you spend somewhere else. Trust me...grew up in woodland hills/Calabasas area. Seen many of them come and go, and this one might be one of them. Had ordered take out.
If i could I would give yume sushi a 10 star all around. The atmosphere was amazing. The food was incredible but best of all was the service. Gabriel was so attentive and helpful. We felt like he was there just helping our table. A must go to place. Can't wait to go back
Beautiful vibe — Excellent food! Everything we ordered was great but the sea bass soup and the dragon roll are the two we will definitely re-order. Great service. Will definitely be back soon 🤤

The food and service are fantastic. However the design and marketing promise a warm and moody atmosphere. The problem in the evening the lighting is turned upto 100! Quelling any hopes of a romantic dinner or cool night out with friends. :-(
When asked we were told ‘the older crowd of calabasas like it bright to read the menu’! Really? This is our only cool sushi place in Calabasas that could be great. Please please can the atmosphere be turned up as the food is amazing..

I really wanted to like this place because we love the Yume in Studio City, the food is good, but the portions are small, and the prices are steep for what you get. Normally, I’d be willing to overlook that for quality, but the service completely ruined the experience.
We arrived on a Wednesday night and were immediately asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, the host apologized and said there would be a 30–45 minute wait. That seemed odd since I had called just 15 minutes earlier and was told there was plenty of room at the bar and lounge. When I asked if those areas were full as well, they just repeated that we’d have to wait. We opted to wait the 30-45 minutes.
As we were walking out, suddenly they told us they did have a table available. We walked back in and were shocked to see six empty tables and plenty of open bar seating. Even after we finished our meal and left, those same tables and bar seats were still unoccupied.
The whole thing felt off. We also couldn’t help but notice that we were the only people of color dining there. It was hard not to feel like we were subtly being pushed away, only to be let in once they realized we weren’t going to leave. The whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth, and we won’t be back.
If you’re looking for great sushi with a welcoming atmosphere, I’d suggest going to the Yume in Studio City instead.
Review: Yume Sushi Bar – A Dreamy New Sushi Destination in Calabasas
If you’re a fan of top-tier sushi and an elevated dining experience, then you need to check out Yume Sushi Bar’s brand-new location in Calabasas. I’ve been a longtime fan of their Studio City spot, and let me tell you—this new location is even more stunning. From the moment you walk in, the upscale and elegant atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable meal.
Let’s talk cocktails—because they are just as much a highlight as the sushi. Beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious, they make for the perfect start to the evening. Whether you’re sipping at their gorgeous bar or lounging with friends, the ambiance is perfect for a night out. They also have an excellent selection of sake, making it a dream spot for anyone who appreciates a good pairing.
Now, onto the real star of the show: the sushi. Yume delivers on every level—freshness, flavor, and flawless presentation. Every bite is an experience, from the vibrant citrus roll to the addictive spicy tuna on crispy rice. The seared salmon sushi with truffle oil is an absolute must-try, balancing rich, buttery flavors with a touch of umami perfection. And if you’re a fan of oysters, theirs—topped with caviar—are simply divine.
The entire experience was top-notch, from the impeccable service to the mouthwatering food. Whether you’re planning a date night or a fun evening with friends, Yume Sushi Bar in Calabasas is the place to be. I already can’t wait to go back!
Vegetarian options: There is a variety of vegetarian dishes that make it easy to enjoy a meal with friends who love sushi. The menu includes grilled vegetables like sautéed green beans and miso-glazed eggplant. The beet salad with avocado is a refreshing choice. The crispy rice topped with avocado and truffle oil provides a satisfying crunch. The mushroom soup is rich in umami flavor, and the corn tempura is both sweet and crispy. For a protein option, the agadashi tofu with a side of rice is both filling and tasty.

Obsessed! I didn't think Yume could get better, and then they opened a second location that looks like you stepped into an Arch Digest issue. The food is incredible and easily the freshest of any sushi restaurants in LA; the toro is hands down my new favorite. The ambiance is stunning and the design of every space is so beautifully done. They also have a full bar, which was nice for a sushi restaurant, so we came early to grab drinks and the bartender was friendly and gave us a few recs. The ambiance and vibe feels like a trendy Beverly Hills hotspot in the heart of Calabasas and everything from the food to service is 10/10. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Food was decent but overpriced. Service was really bad. Rushed, waitress brought the check without asking and cleaned up the table without asking either, I actually didn't finish and still had sushi on my plate. When she brought the check she was just standing there in my face waiting for me to sign. Looks like she had nothing better to do. Yikes. Not coming back.
