I was curious about Checkerboard Vineyards so my wife and I made an appointment to visit and tour the winery. Long story short, it was the highlight of our visit to the Napa Valley. Gary, our guide, walked us through the cave and gave us an overview of the property. He also provided a truly fantastic tasting experience with knowledgeable insights and great descriptions of the wines from each of the vineyards on the property. We really appreciated the singular attention during our visit along with great conversation. I highly recommend this winery tour and their wines!

I have been blessed to be a customer of this incredible winery since 2007. If you have the pleasure to meet the owners Dennis and Steph then you are meeting two people that shoot for perfection. Martha McClellan, winemaker is truly gifted and I am pretty certain that she has never made a bad barrel in her life. Whether you drink Aurora, Nash Creek or Coyote Ridge you will never forget any bottle of Checkerboard. The Bordeaux blend, King's Row is always a fantastic wine. Gary Carman, Hospitality Director is an exceptional guy that will give you a fantastic tour of one of the most beautiful mountain vineyards you will ever see.

Always a great experience at Checkerboard. A beautiful vineyard and winery, with spectacular views. Gary is one of the best hosts you'll ever spend an hour and a half with. Oh, and let's not forget they're pouring some of the best wines you'll experience. The commitment to the details is endless and make a difference, a huge difference. Enjoy.

Outstanding, higher-end vineyard/producer. Unbelievably clean (not a spec of dust nor dot of wine to be seen), beautiful design throughout, limited production and limited varietal wines. It was a pleasure and a privilege to visit.

This is the finest wine on the planet!! This fine wine is better than Opus One by huge amount. I plan to take my first tour and fulfill a bucket list rain next weekend.
