“We try to make it out here at least once a year for my wife’s birthday. We became members a few years back and everytime we come it does not disappoint. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. The young lady we were with yesterday (i feel terrible for forgetting her name) was excellent. And OBVIOUSLY the wine is fantasitc. We get free tasting as members but we always leave with a couple bottles. We will continue coming here yearly if not more. One of our fav spots to visit always.”

“I had dinner here two evenings in a row while staying in the Solage. The food is fabulous - every dish has touches of originality, and all are made to perfection. Even the schnitzel (which I expected to be a mundane dish) was original and exciting.

“On a recent road trip from San Raphael, CA to Victoria, B.C., my daughters and I drove through Napa hoping to have a wine tasting. It was late in the afternoon and many wineries were closing for the day or seemed eerily abandoned. We had given up finding an open winery when my daughter noticed an open sign at the entrance of Bennett Lane.
A friendly fellow named Travis greeted us and regaled us with interesting tales of his travels and winery lore as he poured four delicious wines. I’m partial to reds and I found the Maximus to be complex and had fruity notes that I prefer. I bought a bottle and can’t wait to open it.
Later, we had fun trying to identify various scents using a wine scent roulette style wheel. It was quite challenging!
Travis was a wonderful ambassador for the winery and for the community. He made a great recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner that turned out to be one of the best meals we had on our road trip. Thanks again, Travis!”

“Napa Valley’s new hidden gem is Robert’s Tropical Table located in a converted breezeway/parking lot adjacent to the Mount View Hotel right here in Calistoga. Robert has been known for a decade as one of the handful of magical mixologists in our Valley having a long bar run at Sol Bar (until they closed for remodel and Covid) and then Brasswood before launching his rendition of a Jamaican Beach Cafe. His Ocho Rios roots come alive with a delicious selection of jerk chicken, pork belly, and wings with an escovitch fish perhaps better than mine. And never to be missed are the festival dumplings and a perfect Dark and Stormy. Open DAILY when the music is playing and gates are ajar (3pm to 10pm).”

“You can’t come to Cali and not get Mexican food. I had a booking at the castle and happen to stumble upon picobar just down the road afterwards. So glad I did! I ordered the birria tacos. Some of the BEST birria I have had might I add. Our server was nice and the food came out quickly. The poolside atmosphere was a vibe. Highly recommend!”

We tried: Strawberry, Mint Chip, Cold Brew Coffee, Dark Chocolate, Vegan Chocolate Mint (Tastes like Andes Mint!), & Pistachio
The worker was very kind, sitting area outside clean & has grape vines, there were flies but only a few & to be expected.
Definitely recommend & we will be back before leaving town! ?

The team working the truck were super nice and service was fast. We were able to sit on a picnic bench right beside the truck...and wow, they were simply amazing. “I love coming to Indian Springs. It’s really one of my favorite places. It’s relaxing, beautiful and well kept property. The rooms are lovely and the beds so comfortable! Unfortunately, they require a 2 night minimum. Even during the week. That’s a bummer but really if I could stay a week I would!”

“I was curious about Checkerboard Vineyards so my wife and I made an appointment to visit and tour the winery. Long story short, it was the highlight of our visit to the Napa Valley. Gary, our guide, walked us through the cave and gave us an overview of the property. He also provided a truly fantastic tasting experience with knowledgeable insights and great descriptions of the wines from each of the vineyards on the property. “Locals visiting out of curiosity. Food was very good. Poolside location was really nice even on a 95 degree day. Lots of shade. The only downside were the yellow jackets. We have them at our home at this time of year as well. The traps were hanging very close to the tables. One was right above our head. Hanging the yellow jacket traps away from the food/guest area might be a better solution. Other than that everything was great. We will recommend and return.”

“If I could rate above 5 stars I would. The food was delicious, the staff went above and beyond, and the atmosphere was amazing. The chef especially was very kind and went the extra mile for us. The space is good for kids to run around. Gluten free options. Healthy drinks!

“We just came for drinks and were seated on the patio at our request. The service was fine, as were the drinks (though pricey), but we were constantly pestered by flies. I think fans (or maybe fly traps) could have helped with the flies, and kept it cooler, as the air didn't seem to be circulating very well on the patio

“It's an awesome winery that makes a wide selection of fantastic wine. The castle is child friendly, with the exception of some of the additional tours beyond the basic tasting. The castle architecture is pretty cool, but you'll see most everything in 30 minutes. Definitely a worthwhile stop in Napa... especially with Sterling being just a couple turns and ten minutes away for your next stop.”
