“Napa Valley’s new hidden gem is Robert’s Tropical Table located in a converted breezeway/parking lot adjacent to the Mount View Hotel right here in Calistoga. Robert has been known for a decade as one of the handful of magical mixologists in our Valley having a long bar run at Sol Bar (until they closed for remodel and Covid) and then Brasswood before launching his rendition of a Jamaican Beach Cafe. His Ocho Rios roots come alive with a delicious selection of jerk chicken, pork belly, and wings with an escovitch fish perhaps better than mine. And never to be missed are the festival dumplings and a perfect Dark and Stormy. Open DAILY when the music is playing and gates are ajar (3pm to 10pm).“

“When we come to Calistoga, we always stop here. The food is good, the atmosphere is great. We love that they have live music. When we were there, there was an excellent jazz guitarist.

I had a smoked salmon sandwich with salad and my husband had a burger and fries.

The beer selection is wide, and we're always able to find something we like.“

“Truss and Believe 😍 • We are staying at the BEAUTIFUL Four Seasons Napa Valley and caught lunch at their restaurant Truss. Highly recommend everything we have tried over the past week but I’ll narrow down some for this post 🤭. From the views overlooking the TWO pools to the villas scattered amongst actual grape vines, everything was perfection. For bites, we got the Salmon, Truffle Fries, Tuna Crudo & Mezzi Rigatoni. Chefs kiss on everything ordered 🤌🏻 But we can’t forget about the cocktails, riiiight?! We chose Pick Me Up (tweak espressotini), Fennel Wears Prada, Smokey the Pear and Spring is Here. All superb and full of flavor 😋 • If you ever get a chance to come to Napa Valley and stay at the Four Seasons Calistoga, don’t skip out on Truss. Truss and Believe me, you won’t regret any choice here 😍“

“After five hours on the road, this place greets you like a warm hug. Exceptional doormen and front desk folks us settled us in our room, Sarah at the Café made sure we wanted for nothing when it came to fresh, pleasing local fare and drink. This area is within a minutes-long Uber ride or walk to some outstanding restaurants, but if you are searching for a representative array of small plates or entrees, there’s no need to leave the premises. “Let me start with the place. I’m a billiards guy and it’s Pool table is out of this world with modern lighting. I ordered my favorite drink and as usual with me stepping in a new bar that’s my to go drink and I can tell who is who. The Mescal, the last word “closing argument”. Wow just amazing,the flyover is on point, the bartender “V” has some class yall.
Best coattail mixer I’ve encountered in a while. Danny the security was super polite and welcoming and had a super positive attitude. Love this place 10 of 10“

“Agree with other commentators, good prices and good pours and pretty good vibe. People bring food in and it's free on like Football Sundays. Really good. There's a little bit of a local uppitiness (so many people know each other) that can be a little off putting. For example, bartender won't look at you for an order when a "local " just walked in.“

As a food service entrepreneur myself, I always critique my 1st 3 collisions with staff.

1st - the Manager - Shane
He saw us walk in the door and acknowledged our arrival.
He seated us according to our preference.
He cleared an empty glass from our table while walking by.
He answered a few of my questions about the decor.
He was very delightful and turned our dinner into a memory.

2nd - our server - Cameron
She gave us excellent recommendations on the menu.
When asked about options on the menu she gave a great, honest answer and I took her advice.
She checked on us multiple times and refilled our drinks without interrupting our conversation.

3rd - the kitchen runner
While he was quiet, he was attentive and extremely polite.
He treated us like his whole goal in getting up that day was to prepare to serve us.
He never walked by our table without smiling and usually clearing a dish.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was alive and most importantly, we were made to feel like we were the most important people in the restaurant.

“This is a jewel in our Santa Rosa Downtown Area! The food is amazing, the ambience is superb, and the service matches the atmosphere! My sister and I had a fabulous lunch there. I have gone in the past to have happy hour. If you’re in the area, it is definitely worth a stop.“

“Shout out to Chris the manager who went out of his way to accommodate us. We are Hyatt members and thought we could use our club access awards. Unfortunately this particular restaurant is its own identity and therefore they don’t allow you to use the awards. Chris however made an exception and allowed us to use them. “Ana’s was amazing- I live in NC and we have great dive bars and establishments. Ana’s is one of the best in the country. Meet Roxie (daughter of Ana) and she took great care of us. THEN Ana walked in! She was so delightful and helping right on the spot- what an amazing family operation. The history here is top notch, I am in the wine business and I bring all my guest here for an amazing experience!
