“You can’t come to Cali and not get Mexican food. I had a booking at the castle and happen to stumble upon picobar just down the road afterwards. So glad I did! I ordered the birria tacos. Some of the BEST birria I have had might I add. Our server was nice and the food came out quickly. The poolside atmosphere was a vibe. Highly recommend!“

“Locals visiting out of curiosity. Food was very good. Poolside location was really nice even on a 95 degree day. Lots of shade. The only downside were the yellow jackets. We have them at our home at this time of year as well. The traps were hanging very close to the tables. One was right above our head. Hanging the yellow jacket traps away from the food/guest area might be a better solution. Other than that everything was great. We will recommend and return.“

“Napa Valley’s new hidden gem is Robert’s Tropical Table located in a converted breezeway/parking lot adjacent to the Mount View Hotel right here in Calistoga. Robert has been known for a decade as one of the handful of magical mixologists in our Valley having a long bar run at Sol Bar (until they closed for remodel and Covid) and then Brasswood before launching his rendition of a Jamaican Beach Cafe. His Ocho Rios roots come alive with a delicious selection of jerk chicken, pork belly, and wings with an escovitch fish perhaps better than mine. And never to be missed are the festival dumplings and a perfect Dark and Stormy. Open DAILY when the music is playing and gates are ajar (3pm to 10pm).“

In the Sonoma County Wine Country right next to Santa Rosa High School and the Junior College, you have a high volume bar pouring whiskey, tequila and brandy with a pizza oven upstairs serving chicken wings, fresh Sonoma County style Cobb Salad, baked mushrooms, garlicky pesto, a taste for everyone including those who want deliciously ugly, tasty, nasty chili cheese melted Monster style. We still think about the chili fries hours after eating. For months since I moved to Santa Rosa from Las Vegas, I have heard about the Belvedere from people at the gym that replace protein powder with high intensity intoxicated cocktails on Friday and Saturday night, but I didn’t care to indulge underground as much as I wanted to eat pizza with Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, before going down into the dungeon. The place is popular. Miranda helped us out like a Santa Rosa tour guide. She told us about the bars and their personalities. “Highly recommend making this a must stay place if you’re in the Sonoma area! The resort is so funky, fun and makes you feel special while you visit. The vibe at the Lazeaway Club is awesome. The food is mostly shareable bites, the cocktails were delicious. The DJ on Sunday by the pool left us wanting to stay longer! The best thing about the resort is the staff! “We got seated against the windows with a view of the Courthouse square. It was such a nice view! Only complaint I have was the table was kinda sticky... other than that the food was great! Truffle fries was excellent and bacon wrapped dates! We also got the prawn tacos and calamari which were delicious as well. Cocktail sampler was also great! We got there right after they opened, that's probably why we didn't have to wait too long for our food to be served. I was worried about the wait time that the other reviews had mentioned. Will definitely come back and probably right after they open as well!“
