“honestly i wasn't expecting much but this place totally blew me away. the tasting room is really cozy, not snobby at all, and the guy helping us was super chill and let us take our time. i loved the red blend, ended up buying a bottle to take home which i never do. the view out over the valley is stunning, we just sat on the patio forever. already planning to come back with some friends next time im in the area.”

“Top notch and amazing staff, facility and of course wines. They specialize in a few whites and Cabs so their wine quality is elevated to a higher level due to minimizing the offerings and spending more effort on quality. Staff was the most professional but still casual/personable of all stops in Napa. The wine facility is expertly engineered and kept in impeccable condition! Tasting room facility is very notable but the high Mountain View is INCREDIBLE!!!
If in the area you should def reserve a tasting which is highly worth the cost ($100.00).
I will def return when in the area again for this excellent wine!!”

“Husband and I came for my birthday yesterday. We had such an amazing time. We always go to your restaurant when we go to Calistoga. Lucas was an amazing server very kind and attentive. Eric was also equally amazing and on top of his stuff making sure our water was always full. The drink sommelier was wonderful when she brought out our champagne. Would always recommend this place. It really is the best place to eat in Calistoga.”

“Good food and good service. The outdoor seating however is the stupidest set up I've ever seen at a restaurant. The tables are so mini and short, that you drop food off your fork before it reaches your mouth, due to the reach down, and the chairs are terrible uncomfortable. They're are hard and small. I understand the chairs and tables are cute but, really need replaced with something more practical and more comfortable for customers. They even have plants on the patio that poke you while you're trying to eat.”

I picked up a kid after a weekday match on the back fields; the campus is a standard comprehensive high school with a lot of later wings, and pickup traffic jammed the exit. The office staff knew the game schedule without checking a screen.”

“Awesome tasting at Caymus! Feels very exclusive and intimate, like no matter where you sit it’s just you and your group there. The wines are delicious, they let you take home the glasses you used and we got some hand fans as well. Dylan was our host and he was so knowledgeable, laidback, and made the experience great. The grounds are gorgeous, with purple flowers everywhere and beautiful greenery and trees. Also the barrel room was stunning too. Can’t wait to go back one day soon.”

“My wife and I have enjoyed Cakebread wines for years, but this was our first opportunity to visit the property, and it did not disappoint.

We chose the wine tasting and food pairing experience and were fortunate to have Carl guide us through it. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared the Cakebread family’s history and the evolution of the winery in a way that felt personal, engaging, and never rehearsed.

The wine and food pairings were excellent, and we even had the pleasure of meeting the chef. We also really enjoyed the company of the two other couples in our group—one visiting from Canada and the other from Los Angeles—which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Naturally, we left with a few bottles to bring home, along with one of Cakebread’s signature coasters as a small reminder of a wonderful afternoon.
