Bennett Lane Winery Wineries • $$

“Jose was our wine educator during the tasting and he was awesome. The wine was my favorite in all of Napa and Calistoga that we went to during the week. I will be purchasing lots of their 2020 reserve because it’s more than worth it. At least till they run out, then I will switch to one of the other wines because I loved everyone we had on the tasting.“

Tedeschi Family Winery - Napa Valley, CA Wineries • $$
2779 Grant St, Calistoga

“On a whim, my husband and I decided to take a trip up to wine country. Now let me begin by saying that on every previous trip up this way we have always been underwhelmed. Tedeschi Family Winery changed all of that for us! Ashley greeted us warmly and proceeded to wow us with both her knowledge and the wines she put in front of us. We have never tried a pure gamay wine and that was a weirdly wonderful revelation. But, honestly, we were bowled over by all of their wines here. If you have ever experienced the condescending and arrogant attitude of wine tasting in Napa and have found the experience off-putting, like me in particular, I want to tell you to run, don't walk into Tedeschi. It will change your whole perception and experience in wine country. These folks know what they are doing and are eager to share that experience with you!“

“Had a wonderful time tasting here. We sat on the front patio, surveying the Calistoga main drag, and sipping French style wines. We felt welcomed and well served by the knowledgeable and personable, Jayne-Marie. Besides the great wines, she made our visit even more memorable. Favorite wines we tried were the Albarino, the Rose of Syrah, the Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Champagne. Stop by for a sip“

It's such a treat here to try so many great wines right next to each other. We actually decided to become members since they also have great prices on bottles. August Briggs Winery Wineries • $$

“What a great place to stop in Calistoga. You can actually get a nice glass of wine without scheduling a tasting. The outside seating is very chill. Stop here in Calistoga first and then judge the rest. The wine is very good. We had a very informative conversation with the owner. This was the only time so far we felt truly welcomed. Kudos to the owners for preserving the positive vibes that wine tasting used to be. Thanks.“

Storybook Mountain Winery Winery •
3835 CA-128, Calistoga

“I love supporting a family owned vineyard and winery in Napa - I couldn't recommend the wonderful experience here more! As we pulled in, the owner, an 87 year old farmer was working in the fields and greeted us with a wave - if that doesn't tell you about the quality of vineyard I don't know what does! Rick was well versed in the Napa region, being a local himself, and just a general appreciation for the craft that his family has for winemaking. He was happy to answer our questions about all things wine. We enjoyed the beautiful caves and sat in the grove of Red Woods and enjoyed our bottle of wine with some bread and cheese. We will be back!“

Lawer Estates Winery •
1255 Lincoln Ave, Calistoga

“This was my husband & I'd first stop upon arriving in Napa Valley and we couldn't have had a better time! Christian, the manager, greeted us and was so welcoming our entire stay. We sat outside on the back patio and did the Portfolio tasting which was excellent. The Viognier and the Cab were particularly good! I'll the grapes are local to Calistoga, and it's owner founded & run which I always love supporting. I would highly recommend you pop by, as reservations aren't needed!“

Romeo Vineyards & Cellars Wineries • $$
1224 Lincoln Ave, Calistoga

“The wines here are solid. Here's the good, the wines are very tasty, fruit forward, and low in tannins, which are great for the novice drinker. If you just want to sit back on the patio and drink some wine with or without food, even young these wines taste good. Now here's my critique and that is I believe like much of Napa Valley they pick way too late and cater to the novice drinker, which usually doesn't age very well and that's OK. As a more experienced drinker, I look for something a little more complex and age worthy. these wines are high alcohol fruit bombs and there's nothing bad with that it's just not for my palate. Meanwhile, I'll sit out and enjoy the great service and the beautiful ambience of the redwood trees and babbling fountain.“
