It is one of the best local spots to visit if you are in the area since it feels so community oriented. The regional setting made for a peaceful outing without feeling rushed or commercial. “We met some friends here on a lovely but cool spring Sunday afternoon. We had such a lovely experience that we were the last visitors to leave, but the staff couldn’t be more patient. We had the charcuterie board with our tasting, and it was the most unique and delicious collection of local items. Both the wines were unique, flavorful, and reasonably priced. We loved it so much that the two couples each decided to join their club. While we went in loving the Sauvignon Blanc, we were most impressed with their Zins. They also offered our non drinker with a delicious sparkling water. We will return!“

“Porter Creek Winery was such a peaceful gem and one of the highlights of our wine country trip. The team (Crystal) went above and beyond to accommodate us, even staying a little late so we could enjoy the experience — and we’re so grateful they did!
The setting was absolutely stunning — quiet, serene, and surrounded by natural beauty. It was the kind of view that makes you want to take a deep breath and stay a while. The wines were just as memorable, especially the Zinfandels — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
To top it all off, we were greeted by Poppy, the sweetest dog who made the whole experience even more charming. Between the warm hospitality, the incredible wines, and the peaceful ambiance, it was the perfect way to wind down our day.
Highly recommend Porter Creek for anyone looking for a relaxing, intimate tasting experience with a personal touch.“

“Flanagan is one of our favorite wineries - anywhere. And Tara is the most amazing, warm, friendly, personable, and authentic host you can ask for. She takes care of us every time we’re there, and our friends even when we’re not. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the wine is extraordinary. They should not be able to make such different varietals and styles - Pinots, Chardonnays, Syrahs, Cabs, and more - so well, but they do. Each one is an impeccable expression of that particular varietal but with their signature profile ever present: clean, elegant, and with a stunning depth of flavor. Flanagan is an underrated gem in Sonoma but it shouldn’t be. It’s a Tier 1 production.“

“Favorite wine tasting I’ve done to date. Our server was excellent, and the grounds are beautiful. Wandering around the gardens was a fun bonus, as was saying hi to Winston the pig (their mascot). Get a charcuterie board to accompany your tasting; well worth it!“

Fred cares a lot about his wines and making sure people enjoy drinking what he has to offer. “Even though I visited the tasting room at the end of the day, I was greeted by our smiling host Darriene with a glass of Merriam 25th Anniversary Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Even though we did not have enough time to have a full tasting, she accommodated us with a high-energy, abbreviated version that was well over the expectation. During this time, we had a surprise visitor drop by our table to introduce himself- Peter Merriam himself! Some of my favorites during the tasting were the Semillon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and a very limited production Petit Verdot. There are many great takeaways from this organically farmed estate: from the friendly greeting of dogs and the tranquility of the property to their polished hospitality, you're in good hands.“

This winery is located off the beaten path. It may take a few twists and turns to get to but the drive is a beautiful adventure in itself. If you come here late October to mid November, you'll see the vineyards as well as its surrounding in gorgeous Fall colors. Such a treat!
We were in the area for just one night and just learned about Lambert winery the night before from the locals. We couldn't make online reservations but decided to stop by. And I'm glad we did! We were warmly welcomed in and offered a glass of house wine while waiting. The staff decided to offer us a short version of wine tasting and offered an option for us to purchase a bottle and some snacks so we could have a picnic ourselves in their gorgeous garden area. And of course, as a thanks to how friendly their service was, we opted for both options - short wine tasting first and picnics later
The lady who helped us with the wine tasting was so knowledgeable! She was the first one to explain to us the difference between wines in different regions in California. We learned so much and felt very welcomed.
After the short wine tasting, we were led to the garden area which charmed us instantly. Glasses were provided as well as drinking water. The garden was so well kept and surrounded by mountains and beautiful fall foliates. Such a zen sight to take in and sip on delicious wine !!!“
“Such an amazing experience! We had the best time at Gary Farrell. The winery is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views, and everything just felt so relaxed and welcoming.
Michael was our host, and he was fantastic! You could tell how passionate he is about the wines, and he shared so much information without it ever feeling like a lecture. We all learned a ton, asked lots of questions, and he made the whole tasting fun and interactive.
One of my favorite little touches was that they had blankets out for guests. We had an earlier tasting, and it was a little chilly, so having those waiting for us was perfect. It’s such a small thing, but it really shows they think about the guest experience.
The wines were incredible, the charcuterie paired perfectly, and our whole group left saying how much we loved it. If you’re in Sonoma and looking for a winery with amazing wine, beautiful scenery, and genuinely wonderful people, definitely put Gary Farrell on your list. We’ll absolutely be back!“

If you're looking for a rare Italian varietal that is unique to Orsi, you must try their Biancolella. In addition, loving their Nebbiolo and Montepulciano just to name a few. “Beautiful place. Slightly off the path. Sets high on a hill. Two sides of the property have delightful cozy garden seating with epic views of surrounding mountains & hills. This place will NOT disappoint. We enjoyed the rose. The stone red was smoky and rich if you desire a fantastic red. Bring your own snacks. The out front road is not very busy. Beautiful architecture & great grounds.“

“Our morning at Ramey was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Michael hosted us and was brilliant: warm, generous with his time and incredibly knowledgeable, and he made the whole tasting feel personal and relaxed. We had the best morning and really, really enjoyed every minute of it.
And the Chardonnays are just perfect. We tasted three 2022 single-vineyard bottlings side by side, from the flinty, saline Charles Ranch on the Sonoma Coast to the rich, beautifully balanced Rochioli Vineyard, which was our favourite Chardonnay of the whole trip and came home with us. Hannah, who rarely drinks red, loved the Cole Creek Syrah too. If you love Chardonnay, don't miss Ramey.“

“They had 21 Pinot Noirs and one Chardonnay which was their first endeavor with that grape. They hit a home run with it. I was even able to get a chilled bottle, just what I was looking for on a hot day. The Pinots were all good, some very dry, some not so much but not jammy.“

“Today we visited Overshine Winery in Healdsburg, California, and had such an amazing experience! The wines were absolutely delicious, super refreshing, fruit-forward, and different from the typical Sonoma County wine experience in the best way possible.
The property itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere is laid-back, welcoming, and fun. One of the things we loved most was learning about their unique backstory and the passion behind the winery.
They’re also incredibly dog-friendly, which made the visit even more special. They didn’t just allow dogs, they welcomed them with water, treats, and biscuits for our furry friends!
If you’re visiting the area and looking to support a local business with great wine, great people, and a chill vibe, I highly recommend checking out Overshine Winery for yourself. We’ll definitely be back!“
“We stopped by on a warm Saturday afternoon, without a reservation and were pleased to be seated right away. From the moment you pull in, you feel at home. Bocce in the courtyard, pups on site, a water view among the vines. The balcony was shaded with umbrellas allowing the sun to warm the soul. The wines are part of the Wilson family, and we were so pleased with all of the pinot noirs. We could have spent the entire afternoon there.“

“I belonged to Amista 9 or 10 years ago. Attending #PassporttoDryCreek there in April, my girlfriend and I decided to join. I’ve always loved their sparkling wines. They have some wonderful new ones now.
