A Rafanelli Winery is family owned and celebrates the 4th generation of winemaking. The winery delivers a polished, heritage-driven experience that feels grounded in the vineyard, cellar, and well-made wine. The visit includes clear historical touchpoints, including signage noting “Est. 1911.” The cellar/cave portion is equally compelling, with barrels stored in a tunnel-like cave environment and curated displays of historic photos and winemaking artifacts, including a display labeled “Century Old Zinfandel Vine.” The property is clean, organized, and intentionally understated, with vineyard views that keep the emphasis on agriculture. The wines are presented in a straightforward, professional manner. Spectacular reds include the Zinfandel, Cabernet, and Merlot. The 2018 Zin is a wow, and the Cabernet is as good as anything from Napa. The wine is perfection. A. Rafanelli is a strong recommendation for visitors who value legacy, context, and a focused tasting experience. Make a reservation.
