“We met some friends here on a lovely but cool spring Sunday afternoon. We had such a lovely experience that we were the last visitors to leave, but the staff couldn’t be more patient. We had the charcuterie board with our tasting, and it was the most unique and delicious collection of local items. Both the wines were unique, flavorful, and reasonably priced. We loved it so much that the two couples each decided to join their club. While we went in loving the Sauvignon Blanc, we were most impressed with their Zins. They also offered our non drinker with a delicious sparkling water. We will return!“

My wife and I both chose the shrimp and it was excellent, particularly the very strong cocktail sauce! George took great care of us and made excellent wine recommendations. “Porter Creek Winery was such a peaceful gem and one of the highlights of our wine country trip. The team (Crystal) went above and beyond to accommodate us, even staying a little late so we could enjoy the experience — and we’re so grateful they did!

The setting was absolutely stunning — quiet, serene, and surrounded by natural beauty. It was the kind of view that makes you want to take a deep breath and stay a while. The wines were just as memorable, especially the Zinfandels — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

To top it all off, we were greeted by Poppy, the sweetest dog who made the whole experience even more charming. Between the warm hospitality, the incredible wines, and the peaceful ambiance, it was the perfect way to wind down our day.

Highly recommend Porter Creek for anyone looking for a relaxing, intimate tasting experience with a personal touch.“

“I recently visited Kokomo Winery at Timber Crest Farms and was thoroughly impressed. The vibe of the place is excellent—relaxed yet professional—but what really stands out is the service. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole experience feel personal and welcoming.
As for the wines, the quality is top-tier. Their Pinot Noir is fantastic, and the Cuvée is absolutely incredible. I also really enjoyed their new Breaking Bread line; those table wines are perfect if you're looking for something fresh, light, and easy to drink.
Overall, this is easily one of the best tasting experiences in Dry Creek Valley. If you are looking for high-quality wines and a great atmosphere, this is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!“

“The tasting room is housed in a lovely, broad building with walls of glass and attractive architecture. There is a raised back patio, but I was glad to see that tastings were held on the front lawn and garden this hot Saturday afternoon. It offers shadier spots, and I chose one along the path that felt like my own cozy corner among the plants and butterflies.

It was still hot under the umbrella! But the tasting room staff kept my water carafe filled.

A few wines stood out among this tasting of five, with two bonus wines offered by the staff: Mazzocco Stuhlmuller Chardonnay Reserve 2022 and Mazzocco Seaton Zinfandel Reserve 2022.“

Michael, the owner and winemaker, makes every visit feel personal. His passion for Zinfandel shines through not only in the wine (which is consistently incredible), but in the warmth and hospitality he shows to every guest. The Zins are some of our all-time favorites, and sharing a glass with Michael always feels like catching up with an old friend. Talty isn’t just a stop on the wine trail—it’s a tradition for us. ♥️“

“The Healdsburg Counter-Operation

Healdsburg town square is usually an altar to high-end curation and quiet wealth, but if you walk a few blocks down the avenue, you find the perfect structural anomaly. A low-key, unpretentious patio sanctuary where the air is thick with acoustic guitar soundchecks rather than wine-tasting notes.
The miniature anarchist was sitting across from me on the wooden bench. She wasn't happy about the lack of pastries, but we managed to broker a tense peace treaty. The terms were simple: she got a local pizza box delivered straight to the gridiron table, and she agreed not to dismantle the patio.
With the asset secured, I turned my attention to the liquid evidence.
**The Forensic Breakdown:**
* **The Prime Suspect (16417.jpg):** A pint of Hazy IPA resting on a red cardboard coaster. It was an absolute masterpiece of low-transparency brewing—opaque, thick, and glowing with a deep orange radiance under the patio light. It hit like a velvet blackjack, delivering an awesome, tropical hit that made the valley heat entirely negotiable.
* **The Companion Ale (16416.jpg):** A secondary glass containing a clear, golden-hued traditional IPA. Crisp, sharp, and holding a thin rim of white foam against the glass like a defensive perimeter. A pink lifestyle magazine sat blurred in the background, a complete mismatch for the gritty, honest vibe of the table.
* **The Cold Alibi (16415.jpg):** A glass of ice-cold soda sweating heavily under the humid air, condensation running down the glass like tears from a broken informant. It sat next to the open pizza box, serving as the anarchist's primary fuel source.
**The Verdict:**
If you’re tired of the hyper-manicured wine-country racket and need an honest pint of top-tier hazy beer to settle your nerves, this is the best hideout in the valley. The protection tax is low, the beer is phenomenal, and the crowd actually lets you breathe. We’ll be back to run the same operation next time we're on this beat.“

“Even though I visited the tasting room at the end of the day, I was greeted by our smiling host Darriene with a glass of Merriam 25th Anniversary Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Even though we did not have enough time to have a full tasting, she accommodated us with a high-energy, abbreviated version that was well over the expectation. During this time, we had a surprise visitor drop by our table to introduce himself- Peter Merriam himself! Some of my favorites during the tasting were the Semillon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and a very limited production Petit Verdot. There are many great takeaways from this organically farmed estate: from the friendly greeting of dogs and the tranquility of the property to their polished hospitality, you're in good hands.“

“Wow. We found this winery through an Airbnb “Experience” listing for a cooking class + vineyard tour + food pairing/tasting. My goodness are we blown away. We spent 4 days in Napa, toured many estates and vineyards. This was the one which stole the show. The staff, from start to finish, were absolutely delightful individuals. The farm area was beautiful with education on sustainable farming practices. Our time in the kitchen was amazing, with life-applicable cooking tips we could take home. The tour of the grounds blew us away, the history and knowledge fully restored our hope in sustainability. Then, the food and wine pairing with the fresh produce we hand selected. The wines? The best we’d had in 4 days. I will make a trip just to come back here and spend a day or two. Amazing. Thank you.“

Lambert Bridge Winery Wineries •

“Lambert Bridge Winery is top notch in customer service and ambience!! And they're super dog friendly too! One of the best wine tasting experiences I've ever had in Sonoma County

This winery is located off the beaten path. It may take a few twists and turns to get to but the drive is a beautiful adventure in itself. If you come here late October to mid November, you'll see the vineyards as well as its surrounding in gorgeous Fall colors. Such a treat!

We were in the area for just one night and just learned about Lambert winery the night before from the locals. We couldn't make online reservations but decided to stop by. And I'm glad we did! We were warmly welcomed in and offered a glass of house wine while waiting. The staff decided to offer us a short version of wine tasting and offered an option for us to purchase a bottle and some snacks so we could have a picnic ourselves in their gorgeous garden area. And of course, as a thanks to how friendly their service was, we opted for both options - short wine tasting first and picnics later

The lady who helped us with the wine tasting was so knowledgeable! She was the first one to explain to us the difference between wines in different regions in California. We learned so much and felt very welcomed.

After the short wine tasting, we were led to the garden area which charmed us instantly. Glasses were provided as well as drinking water. The garden was so well kept and surrounded by mountains and beautiful fall foliates. Such a zen sight to take in and sip on delicious wine !!!“
