“We did a wine tasting and Vivian is quite literally the best thing to happen to Sanoma since the discovery of the grape. Not only did she help us learn about each wine, she felt like a friend telling life stories at she greeted us her home. My wife is well known Chardonnay hater and after Viv helped us pick out a Chardonnay to her liking we left with a whole case. Come for the wine, stay for the Viv!“

Kanzler Family Vineyards Winery •

“This is such a wonderful spot for a several night stay in Sonoma. First you are right in the vineyard in a stunning and beautiful home. The entire house is well appointed as is the outside pool.

I am picky, but I can not recommend this property enough. We have stayed there twice with a group of eight and are looking forward to our next trip out from NJ.

Also - bonus - the tasting room is fantastic, near by and the Kanzler Pinot is to die for.“

“One of my favorite wineries. Such a hidden gem. The owner was super nice and very fun to chat with. The experience was very relaxing and intimate. Went here with my brother a few years ago and looking to go back next time I'm in the area. I thought I was only a white wine girly but was blown away by the cab!“

Scherrer Winery Winery •
4940 Ross Rd, Sebastopol

“My husband and I have been going to this winery for many years. It is a delightful, family owned and run business. All aspects are family run, from growing many of the grapes used in the wines, to the wine making, through to bottling and distribution. In non-covid times, they host tastings of their wines - both in bottle and some still in the barrel - paired with delicious food nibbles. I highly recommend their wines. Among my favorites are the old and mature vine zinfandel and the Platt vineyard Pinot.“

Ektimo Vineyards Winery •
4950 Ross Rd, Sebastopol

“We have been members at Ektimo for a number of years. We discovered this gem in Sebastopol on a wine trip with some friends.

When I say this, it is 100% the truth... even though we may like some wines more than others, there has NEVER been a wine we just didn't like! I am a customer, and in no other way affiliated with Ektimo.

Julius is always an amazing host and has always been as accommodating as possible when we have special requests, as we live out of the state.

Anyone who belongs to wine clubs knows that after awhile, some clubs go out of favor. This is one that we really can't ever imagine leaving.

I can't recommend Ektimo or Julius enough!

Tom and Tammra (Cheers)“

Littorai Wineries •
788 Gold Ridge Rd, Sebastopol

“It’s just a real pleasure to taste here. It has none of the theme park style of Napa and just pure world class wines in a calm setting.

It’s a bit off the beaten path. There’s no sign to the winery, just a single lane road through the farmland. We were the only party there at 10am and they had a nice warmed patio set up for us to showcase their outstanding wine.

The host sits with you for a discussion about the wine for the entire tasting. The host was super knowledgeable about the wine. And they did not mind our kids running around at all.

The wines are great, a real example of restrained, more French style wines in the new world. They are pricey, not quite top end Napa pricey but more than most people would spend on a bottle of wine.

I bought a couple of bottles and hope to acquire more in the future.“

Kosta Browne Winery Winery •
200 Morris St, Sebastopol

“Kosta Browne has been our favorite wine membership for years, but we only recently made our first visit. My husband and I have been to wineries all over the state and beyond and both agreed this was our best tasting experience yet. Joe was friendly, knowledgable, and generally enjoyable to spend time with. The tour was thoughtful and the tasting room atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. There were several delicious places to grab lunch nearby as well. We look forward to our next visit.“

Horse & Plow Tasting Room Winery •
1272 Gravenstein Hwy N, Sebastopol

“Lovely experience. This reminded me of the small family run tasting rooms in Virginia where people come sit outside and lounge all day. We did flights of the wine and cider and both were great. The two servers working were both personable welcoming and knowledgeable. We did the cheese tray and it was fabulous too. The only thing I would have done differently is to allow for more time here.“
