“We booked a tour and tasting on a lovely sunny day. We were joined by four other people. We enjoyed everyone's company, swapping Napa notes, while learning about the Cakebread family and wines. We were given a welcome taster of Rose while we waited for the session to start. An informative video was playing in the large room. Four wine tasting stops while we gained more information from our host Jeff. Seeing the tank and barrel room was interesting, as was getting to taste finger limes from the garden. A nice bottle of Cabernet was purchased for the suitcase home.“

“The wine tasting was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The property was absolutely stunning. The atmosphere felt elegant yet welcoming. We enjoyed the insightful explanations about the vineyard, the history and of course, the wine. Juan was an excellent host and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend visiting. “The Terraces is a beautiful property with great wines and a unique balsamic vinegar tasting that was really wonderful all set up by the amazing Maria D'Ambrosio from The Harvest Inn.

Once we met Dominic, the associate wine maker, we knew we were going to have a great time. He took us on a fun ATV tour of the property, sharing the history of the property and the area, describing the creation of the hillside vineyard, and explaining how they make the wine on this property.

The balsamic tasting was interesting and fun, as we sampled from barrels of different ages to see how the flavors changed with age.

Then, we went back to the patio for the tasting of some phenomenal wines and great conversation. We'll definitely be back.“

“A warm welcome from the female host when we arrived. We had not booked, but walk-ins are welcome. We were given a Sav B as a greeting to drink. It was from the Miljenko Selection and was the best Sav B we tasted in our 3 days in Napa. Seated in the delightful garden patio area and Ryan was our tasting host. The Cab Savs were interesting to taste side by side, the 2021 and the 2015 and both very good. We also tasted a Zin and Ryan told us all about Mike Grgich's wine journey and how Zinfandel came to be in USA. We came here because we had heard about the Judgement of Paris and looked forward to tasting the Chardonnay. Both were exceptional. Truly excellent. The 2023 from the Miljenko Selection and the top of the top, the 2023 Paris '76 from a select section of the vineyard. Suitcase space meant we had to be incredibly select on our first visit to Napa, but the Paris' 76 had to be purchased. I could easily have also bought the Sav B and the other Chardonnay and the 2018 Violetta dessert wine, which a total treat to taste. And the Napa Wine train tooted and stopped outside. Had a lovely chat with the train driver. The grounds at Grgich are beautifully kept and we highly recommend you go and try it for yourselves. Raising a beret to Mike!“

“We had an amazing experience as a walk in. The staff were very knowledgeable, very friendly and helped us pick out an amazing wine. The grounds are beautiful and the white roses were in bloom when we visited. It made the experience even better seeing all the beauty. 10 out of 10 recommend a trip here, even the drive to them is beautiful through the winding mountains. They also have a membership that you can get wine shipped to you.“

“It was raining when we visited so they set us up on the porch of the main building, which I LOVED. They had the heaters going and offered a cozy blanket. We were allowed to walk literally anywhere we wanted which was such a cool experience to see the bottling process and the cellar. All wines were delish and the staff was so friendly and attentive, especially Angela and Jeff(?). Would recommend!“

“We admittedly didn’t do much research before visiting this winery, but we were so pleasantly surprised. David was an incredible host... genuine, knowledgeable, and not the least bit pretentious. This ended up being the most personal of all the winery experiences we had. The grounds are beautiful, the wine is amazing, and the overall atmosphere made it truly memorable. “I’ve been a wine club member for nine years, but I live in North Carolina and have limited opportunities to actually visit in person. I had the opportunity to make a visit Thursday, and it was truly spectacular. Everyone made a wonderful attempt to make me feel so special and I thoroughly enjoyed the club experience wine tasting. Chef Nic and Todd put on a world class tasting and I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in town. Katie helped me book the reservation via text and it was so seamless! Todd was great conducting the actual wine tasting, He was super knowledgeable about the history of Peru and was completely personable about his journey from OH to get there, but also just present enough to make it a thoroughly enjoyable two hours with my colleague! “My absolute favorite winery and vineyard in the area. I've been a member for many years and highly recommend all their reds and whites offered. The grounds are gorgeous for just walking around and picturesque. There is a lot of history in the building and a great museum located on the second floor.“

The wine is in a class of its own, from the aroma to the smooth taste that definitely makes you go “ummmmm.” Add to that the personal tasting we had with the owners Brian and Claudia and their son Connor, who made us feel like family, and it was the most memorable experience of our trip. Comparing the tasting experience at Fleury to that of many other wineries; well the others may leave you as dry as a cheap cab on your tongue! If you’re looking for a boutique experience instead of a production line, Fleury is a “must book” for your next Napa trip.“
