We had an amazing wine tasting experience at Picayune! The staff were incredibly friendly and we learned a lot about the wine and the winemaker. I loved how nearly every wine had a unique label with a backstory, and the little wine pourers on the bottles were color coordinated to match the label!
I’ll have to come back soon on a Thurs-Sun to do a food pairing lunch or dinner!
This store is a treasure! All employees, especially the owner, Claire, are so gracious and kind. The merchandise is fabulous, from so many countries! This store carries Pendleton blankets, shirts and various other things.
Picayune also carries its own brand of beautiful wines and other gourmet items. As previously said, Claire picks the merchandise which varies from all over.

Picayune Cellars & Mercantile is a charming winery with a delightful shop attached, located in downtown Calistoga. The winemaker's wines are refreshing and down-to-earth, featuring a variety of French-style options, including Albariño, Rosé of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Champagne. Guests can enjoy a tasting on the front patio, surrounded by beautiful views. The store offers an interesting selection of wines, and the staff is incredibly hospitable, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
Picayune has received praise for its wonderful Spring Leg of Lamb dinner prepared by Chef Ross Melling and the "dream team" at the tasting room. Recently, the addition of Chef Ben has brought wonderful food and Picayune wine pairings together in beautiful presentations, enhancing the lunch experience. Visitors have also enjoyed the bespoke merchandise available in the shop and have eagerly joined the wine club. The winery has expanded to include small bites that perfectly complement the wine tasting experience. Customers have been impressed by the quality of the wines, with the Padlock and Rive Gauche standing out. Additionally, Picayune organizes trips through Claire de Lune Journeys, which guests have enthusiastically participated in. Overall, Picayune delivers great experiences and great wine, making it an essential part of any visit to Calistoga.
