“One of the best experiences we had during our time in Napa. Our host Matt was awesome and incredibly knowledgeable about the wines. Such a fun atmosphere and great wine, we especially loved the fact that once a certain bottle was made that was it for the batch. Pizza night was one of the best reds we had the entire trip. Definitely a must visit.“
“Amazing service!! Thanks Stephanie!“

“They aren't kidding that this is a "local favorite". Everything we ordered was delicious and they were quite accommodating about me bringing my own, local wine. They also have an impressive business model worthy of support! I'm going back here next week! <3“
“Cole was awesome and loved the wine and of coarse the horses“

“Amazing service and great food! We felt very welcomed and appreciated“
“My family and I had a wonderful experience thanks to Jackson and the other staff! it was my mother’s birthday and they made it special and personalized, which we were so thankful for. if you are Black or POC and worried about the drive up or the vibe there, we were real comfortable and didn’t encounter any weird behavior. It was amazing and this experience exceeded my expectations, I can’t wait to return“
“This store is a treasure! All employees, especially the owner, Claire, are so gracious and kind. The merchandise is fabulous, from so many countries! This store carries Pendleton blankets, shirts and various other things.
Picayune also carries its own brand of beautiful wines and other gourmet items. As previously said, Claire picks the merchandise which varies from all over.
Picayune’s is the first shop I go to when I am in Calistoga and the last when I’m ready to leave! Be sure and put it on your list ! ❤️“
“Beautiful property and amazing wine. Shelly hosted us and was so knowledgeable, friendly and patient. We joined the wine club - LOVED IT“
“Chateau did not disappoint. It's looks great from the outside just like I.was expecting. From the moment I arrived at the front door I was greeted by friendly people. Joel, Tash and John were wonderful hosts in the tasting room. The tasting is worth it 100%. Sad I will probably never come back again.“
“Our final stop of our wine trip, and I'm so glad we saved the best for last. One of my favorite wineries I have ever visited. Not only is the winery tucked away in it's own Narnia-like mountain setting, but there are cats wandering about to make it that much more fun. Goes without saying that the wines are sublime. Our host, Tameron, was so friendly, and made us feel like old friends by the end of the tasting. (If you read this, Tameron - I hope you enjoyed the Boston Pops 4th of July show! We had several friends performing in that).“

“The food was amazing. We got a variety of items and everything was sooo good. However, the server had a bit of an attitude which tainted the experience, which was supposed to be a celebratory meal for our group.“
“Here's a fun fact: Frank Family makes an amazing sparkling wine. The Blanc de Blanc sparkling is this house's secret sauce that is winery visit exclusive. Highly recommended. We sat at the bar and squeezed in a tasting between tastings and we were glad we did. The gentleman behind the bar was very engaging and helpful. Glad we could get in this beutiful property. Thanks Frank!“

“We had a great family dinner for our Taco Tuesday replacement whilst on vacation, really good comfort food - the chicken quesadilla was something else! We were early so it was quiet, and enjoyed great friendly and quick service.“
“On my trip to to Napa …this was my FAVORITE winery! They put so much care, quality, and time into the wine they produce. I definitely will be joining one of their wine clubs. Their old world and personal touch to wine making BLEW my mind!!! Wineries like this is why I love and prefer small vineyards. Thank you for making my visit EXTREMELY MEMORABLE! N“
“We had a lovely tasting with Laura here! She is very sweet and has a great story to tell about the vineyard and winery! I would definitely recommend making a reservation as it is a small operation. We were fortunate enough to walk in and she so graciously hosted us!“
“Jericho Canyon was one of the highlights of my Napa trip. What sets this winery apart is how intimate and personal the experience feels from start to finish.
The ATV tour was fantastic and offered a unique way to explore the property while learning about the vineyard and its history. The scenery was beautiful, and getting out into the vines made the visit feel much more immersive than a typical seated tasting.
I also loved the private nature of the experience. It never felt rushed or crowded, and there was plenty of time to ask questions, enjoy the wines, and take in the surroundings. The hospitality was warm and genuine, making it feel more like being welcomed onto someone’s estate than visiting a commercial tasting room.
If you’re looking for a more exclusive and memorable Napa experience beyond the larger wineries, Jericho Canyon is absolutely worth a visit.“

“My wife and I visited Newton Napa Valley February 18, 2023. It was a private tasting hosted by a very knowledgeable, respectful and kind young man named Edgar Macias. Our entire experience, from greeting to our wine tasting with a splendid charcuterie, to our departure, was magnificent. My wife enjoyed the 2016 Mt. Veeder Cab and my favorite was the 2016 Spring Mountain Cab. We have been to Napa before but this experience at Newton was the best by far, for both of us. We learned so much from Edgar about the grape growing process, the vineyards and the climate for this batch of wine year 2016. I wanted to thank Mr. Macias for help making this tasting a memorable one. His hospitality is superior and we wish him the best! Newton makes a superb Chardonnay as well. If you are reading this review, I strongly recommend this vineyard/winery.“
“Went on a Monday afternoon to meet a friend while visiting the area. The outdoor seating is gorgeous with plenty of space, and we basically had the entire area to ourselves. The server for the wine tasting experience was great! He was very informative about all the different wines we had the pleasure of trying, and even gave us a bonus taste of a more aged wine. The price was average for a wine tasting experience, so overall it was a great time. Would definitely go again given the chance!“
“Wonderful atmosphere and good food! The service is also wonderful!“

“I definitely recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. The food was so delicious and everyone was so friendly and kind it was such a joyous experience. I ordered the basil chicken and it's some of the best basil chicken I have ever had. I like it really spicy and it was definitely on point. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the food here as I did.“

“We had a wonderful dinner there. Great menu, good wine selection, wonderful service. We shared arancini balls for an appetizer, a fantastic Napa salad with candied walnuts, apples and blue cheese, and then a Thai chicken pizza. We would get each one of these items a second time! It is our understanding they reopened with a new menu in March 2025. We were here in June and the menu is great. Definitely would recommend Palisades Eatery.“
“Wow this was such an amazing vineyard! We did the hilltop experience and upgraded our tasting to the Library Tasting and the Cab Sav tasting. Was fun to do something different and share both experiences. The gondola's were fun! Very clean and easy to use and a great addition to see Napa Valley. The team were all lovely, very friendly and welcoming and helpful. But I would add that they gave us the right amount of space to spend time chatting about the wines on our own. Loved the gift shop - great additions to the wine purchases. Highly recommend this as a stop whilst in Napa Valley!“

“Delicious Chinese food! I had the crispy ginger chicken. I loved that it was not super breaded but you can actually taste the chicken. We ordered pork potstickers, fried rice and Szechuan pork and it was all fabulous. Service was prompt and servers were very kind. Great place!“

“Story time- Long ago, in the tiny town of Guerneville, there was an ice cream parlor tucked inside an old bank building. It was there that I experienced one of my all-time favorite dessert collaborations: ice cream paired with pies from Chile Pies Baking Company. You'd walk in, choose your slice, top it with the perfect scoop, and live your best à la mode life. It was summer magic.
Then Chile Pies took over the restaurant space at Dr. Wilkinson's Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs, and my pie × ice cream era ended.
I've been following House of Better for a while, but it took an absolutely INSANE promotion to get me through the doors: dine at the property and receive a free midweek pool pass to the resort. The hotel may not have loved that deal... but I certainly did. (I went twice.)
First Visit
- Salsa tasting flight ($14): Really good, creative variety, but not enough chips at first. Thankfully, they happily refilled the basket.
- Kale & Maitake Omelet ($19): Recommended as a staff favorite. Unfortunately, we wouldn't order this again. It was surprisingly flavorless, and the accompanying salad felt like an afterthought. If you're here focused on health and wellness, you might love this.
- Slice of signature apple & green chile pie ($8): I wanted nostalgia. Sadly, it didn't transport me back.
- Green chile stew, veggie style ($10/cup): My friend loved this.
- Red chile chicken posole ($10/cup): So good I considered ordering it again on my second visit.
Second Visit
- Crispy taco plate ($25): A ton of food and genuinely great value, grilled chicken. Super satisfying.
- Arnold Palmer ($5): Simple, refreshing, perfect poolside energy.
What I love about House of Better is the format: order at the counter, grab your number, settle in. It's easy, casual, and especially ideal for groups.
You do not have to be a hotel guest to eat here. And if you're eyeing pool or spa access without booking a stay, check out ResortPass.“

“Made a reservation for our anniversary dinner here and was seated immediately. They acknowledged our celebratory meal and started us off with complimentary cocktails. We ordered the Parker rolls $15 with crab spinach dip $16, crab noodles $38, and short rib $78. Not cheap, but we felt the prices were reasonable considering the quality and portions. All the food was really good with well thought out ingredients and flavors. Best short rib we've ever had. So tender and flavorful. It is a must order. We joked about wanting to grab a to go order of that on our way home. We ended our meal with the butterscotch pudding, but ended up not liking it. The server noticed, apologized, and removed it from our bill. Really good service overall. Beautiful, classy looking, intimate, large sized restaurant. Plenty of parking. Literally the perfect meal in terms of food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend“
