I don’t think that is worth a steak or shrimp pasta but that is my opinion. Outdoor dining is available and they have heaters by the wall of sliding windows that open up totally he outside. Awesome deserts. I had the cookie butter cheesecake. I died and went to heaven.“

“Great food and service. Strong Japanese influence with local ingredients. Wine was great but expensive compared to European three star spots. Knowledge about the food varied among the waiters - one told us the cabbage dish was all fresh cabbage, then ten minutes later we listened to a different waiter tell the table next to us that it was half fermented cabbage (and that was a pattern). Duck was a highlight - blew EMP duck out of the water. I appreciated the use of sound dampening materials on the interior.“

Unfortunately this particular restaurant is its own identity and therefore they don’t allow you to use the awards. Chris however made an exception and allowed us to use them. “Sept 18, 2025 my wife and I were on our 1st full day of California, Napa, Sonoma, Santa Rosa, Petaluma area- WINE Country after traveling from Ohio. We were given the recommendation to visit the Harvest Moon winery after visiting Balletto Vineyards- which was exceptional. We drove in and were the only ones on the patio as work- grape crushing- was going on outside. The beautiful area appeared to be smaller and more intimate and not as commercialized as Balletto which suits us fine. We sat at the outside tables and watched three guys at the crush pad unload bins full of grapes into the crusher. We were in no hurry so we watched the interesting process intently while relaxing. After a short time the proprietor Randy came off the skid steer or tractor and greeted us. We went inside the tasting room and he proceeded to explain what they were doing outside in the tents and the about the wine flights we would enjoy. I had the red flight while my wife( Beth) had the sweet dessert white flight. We sat outside at the tables, enjoyed everyone of the wines in the flights, enjoyed watching the process of crushing the grapes, taking the stems and extra(s) in one bin and checking out the bins full of crushed grapes...with dry ice.. I had to have an explanation of this which Randy did. We had an very enjoyable experience in the totally relaxing atmosphere, while Randy as the working man he is did his thing to make the wines we were enjoying. During a break from crushing the grapes Randy asked us our thoughts of the flights and said he had an extra taste he would bring out for us. He took care of another couple that had arrived for a tasting and had his son bring us some chocolate the was to be paired with our extra tasting. With the extra wine tasting and the chocolate which did pair very well with both the red and dessert flight, we decide to take a couple bottles home with us. Randy- I sit here writing this review as I had popped the signed bottle of Malbec I brought home to enjoy and to remember our time at Harvest Moon Winery. Thank you for this experience of our time enjoying your wines.

We tried the spanakopita, the dip trio, fried goat cheese salad and the lamb and beef gyro wrap. Everything was sensational! TJ is #1! “When we stayed in the Sonoma/Healdsburg area, our resort concierge recommended that we try Gary Farrell as one of our wineries to experience while we were in the area. This was our first stop and it was an amazing winery- only open for reservations only (no walk-ins).

We arrived a few minutes before our tasting and were warmly greeted by the host staff and shown to our table, overlooking the beautiful Russian River hillside area. The views from the winery are absolutely outstanding.

We learned from our host that the owners of the Gary Farrell Winery don't own any of the vineyards, they only procure the grapes and they're the wine maker. The wines were all drastically different and some of the best Chardonnay's we have had on any of our tastings we have done in Napa.

The host was so knowledgable and very warm and friendly. We went away with a new found appreciation of their winery and purchased a bottle of wine to take home with us for a Christmas gift. Gary Farrell is truly an amazing winery and I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area! We look forward to returning!“

“Porter Creek Winery was such a peaceful gem and one of the highlights of our wine country trip. The team (Crystal) went above and beyond to accommodate us, even staying a little late so we could enjoy the experience — and we’re so grateful they did!

The setting was absolutely stunning — quiet, serene, and surrounded by natural beauty. It was the kind of view that makes you want to take a deep breath and stay a while. The wines were just as memorable, especially the Zinfandels — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

To top it all off, we were greeted by Poppy, the sweetest dog who made the whole experience even more charming. Between the warm hospitality, the incredible wines, and the peaceful ambiance, it was the perfect way to wind down our day.

“Hook & Ladder was a really enjoyable stop and felt like the definition of a family-run winery experience.

Full disclosure: I’m more of a craft beer person while my wife is the wine enthusiast, but this ended up being one of those easy, low-pressure tasting experiences that makes wine country fun for everyone.

The tasting was reasonably priced and refreshingly simple, no complicated reservation process or over-the-top formality. Just walk in, sit down, and enjoy.

The indoor tasting space had a unique personality, with fire and police patches from surrounding agencies decorating the walls along with shirts from departments across the region. It added a personal, community-focused feel that made the space memorable and different from more polished winery tasting rooms.

Most seating leans toward an outdoor patio setup, but since it was cold during our visit we stayed inside and still had a great experience.

While we didn’t take any bottles home this time (we’ve actually seen their wine at Costco before), it was a fun and relaxed stop, perfect if you want a tasting experience without the complexity or pressure that sometimes comes with larger wineries.

“Been waiting to go for months. Finally went and the food was absolutely amazing but we never where checked on. I just wanted a water and salsa and was looking the whole meal for an employee. made eye contact with our server and she ignored me 3 times, then brought our check and said you can pay whenever. not even how was the food. my husband had to get me my water as he fully finished his food while I was still trying to stall because I wanted salsa on my 25$ omelet. 😕“
