We embarked on the Seven Single Vineyard tasting, which is essentially an exercise in over-analyzing white grapes. The 2023 Stock Ranch Chardonnay was easily the most balanced of the lineup. Moving through the flights, the 2021 Stone Flat was noticeably light, while the 2022 McCrea took a sharp turn into clean, tropical territory. The real plot twist was the 2023 Hyde Vineyard, which came across as surprisingly smoky—perfect if you like a little campfire drama in your stemware. However, the undisputed crowd favorite was the 2015 Vine Hill Vineyard. Naturally, because it’s spectacular and proves just how beautifully these vintages can age, it’s strictly not for sale. Outstanding marketing strategy, really.

Whatever you do, do not skip out on the snacks. The Liptauer paprika cheese and sprouted chickpea hummus hold their own, but the real engineering marvel here is the house-made crackers. They’re crafted using the Chardonnay by-product, meaning you can efficiently consume the wine while simultaneously eating its leftovers.“

“We had a great prix fixe meal of 3 courses but the also offer 5 courses. No bad selections except for the cauliflower steak. I don’t think that is worth a steak or shrimp pasta but that is my opinion. Outdoor dining is available and they have heaters by the wall of sliding windows that open up totally he outside. Awesome deserts. I had the cookie butter cheesecake. I died and went to heaven.“

“I went with my girlfriend and her husband - his first time - and we all loved it. We shared four dishes and everything was deliicous - paella with amazing flavors, Cachapa with hanger steak, freshly baked rolls with Meyer lemon olive oil for dipping and a Latin wedge salad with oranages, beautiful hers and crunchy Chicharron crumbles. “We were in Healdsburg for appointments. Finding a good place for breakfast was on our to-do list. Lots of good options. Today, Acorns Cafe looked like the best choice. We found a calm and peaceful place. The menu wasn't deep with options. What was there was excellent. Order at the counter and it's delivered to your table. Staff were friendly and helpful. We e joked our selections. Portions were fair. Felt a little expensive, $20 per person.“

“When we stayed in the Sonoma/Healdsburg area, our resort concierge recommended that we try Gary Farrell as one of our wineries to experience while we were in the area. This was our first stop and it was an amazing winery- only open for reservations only (no walk-ins).

We arrived a few minutes before our tasting and were warmly greeted by the host staff and shown to our table, overlooking the beautiful Russian River hillside area. The views from the winery are absolutely outstanding.

We learned from our host that the owners of the Gary Farrell Winery don't own any of the vineyards, they only procure the grapes and they're the wine maker. The wines were all drastically different and some of the best Chardonnay's we have had on any of our tastings we have done in Napa.

The host was so knowledgable and very warm and friendly. We went away with a new found appreciation of their winery and purchased a bottle of wine to take home with us for a Christmas gift. Gary Farrell is truly an amazing winery and I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area! We look forward to returning!“

We were perfectly satisfied with what we ordered, and between two of us it cost around $84 whilst a dinner of two AYCE's at Paradise Sushi would be around $100 and much lower quality. Personally, I tried their Sebastopol, Stony Point, and Vegas rolls.“

“If you are a fan of sparkling wines, this winery is the perfect place for you! It’s also super family friendly and has a free winery tour with a complimentary wine tasting at the end. We did the 3 tastings for $15 and got one of our tasting fees waived by purchasing 3 bottles of Korbel wines. Our daughter loved running around the winery. All the workers are so lovely and friendly, treats you like family! We loved the sweet wines, like the moscato and the sweet rose. Can’t wait to try it with vanilla ice cream!!“

While I appreciate some attention- it was over the top with more than appropriate amount of attention. I figured we would bop in for a taste of something, but ended up with a flight, and several small sips of other options, with THE BEST service from Shoshanna (sorry if I butchered the spelling!!). Incredible hospitality, incredible cider (grabbed some to bring back to TN which means it’s worth having to check my bag), and such a chill vibe- played checkers with my dad as we sipped on our flight.
