The Checkers restaurant has merited 3 stars after my previous visit because I have found the food there to be, while not outstandingly bad, positively mediocre and the portions to be all but satisfactory when considering the egregious price of the restauraunt and choices available in this region. I believe that the Checkers restaurant ought to be relegated to the list of mediocre restaurants that a non-asthete of quality food would mistake as the crescendo of cusine.
Calzone was huge! Enough for four with a salad! We had veggie..very tasty. Rib eye steak was tender, with mashed pesto potatoes. Wine and Beer only. Waitresses was super nice! Comped our birthday dessert!
My girlfriends and I had my birthday dinner Thursday night. We had Cesar Salads, two Linguini Carbonara's and the Braised Lamb Shank. All was amazing ! I would really be in trouble if I lived in Calistoga, it is the best Italian food I have ever had. Our server was wonderful, very attentive. I received dessert on the house. I can't wait to visit again.
