First time ever going to a vineyard. My boyfriend decided to plan a cute trip for us for my birthday so we drove out there from San jose. Everything was going well until our waiter approached us and told us respectfully we had to leave because somebody else was waiting for our table? Let me remind you that another couple and us got there at the same time. The population there was 100% Caucasian and as people of color we felt racially profiled and discriminated.. because why were we the only ones asked to give up our table that we paid for just like everyone else did? I was planning on taking my parents but now I won't because we are not welcomed.
The gondola ride is breathtaking, and the cabernet is delicious!
Highly recommend! The gondola ride and the grounds are amazing and worth the stop. The host and wines were just ok but still worth the stop and doing a tasting.
Wow this was such an amazing vineyard! We did the hilltop experience and upgraded our tasting to the Library Tasting and the Cab Sav tasting. Was fun to do something different and share both experiences. The gondola's were fun! Very clean and easy to use and a great addition to see Napa Valley. The team were all lovely, very friendly and welcoming and helpful. But I would add that they gave us the right amount of space to spend time chatting about the wines on our own. Loved the gift shop - great additions to the wine purchases. Highly recommend this as a stop whilst in Napa Valley!
Gondala ride was very romantic. We did the tour that included 3 +3 wine tastings. It is self guided, even though we had the feeling that we paid for a guided tour. The very Best part of the tour wss the last 3 tastings when we sat down and had the cheese and crackers. We had a great chance to discuss the tour and have some nice wines.
The wine pours were quite disappointing.. it's like Scrooge was in charge of pouring. I asked for more at one Spot and I was told that he wasn't allowed. That is why I am not giving a 5 Star. The wine was ok. Maybe I am a wine snob, but I do know what tastes better.. Add this spot to your day, I doubt you will be disappointed.
We had the pleasure of experiencing the Hillside Tasting, and it was outstanding. Our host, a knowledgeable sommelier, guided us through the tasting notes and shared insights about the vineyard locations. The food pairings elevated each wine beautifully. The Cabernet stood out with rich dark chocolate flavors and a subtle hint of citrus. The gondola ride made the experience even more memorable, offering stunning views of the valley—including the Four Seasons.
Sterling Vineyards made my first trip to Napa so amazing! The views were so beautiful from the moment we arrived. Each wine my husband and I tasted was so good and the cheese boards paired perfectly. I am ready to make another trip to purchase additional bottles of wine.
Oh wow. This vineyard truly is an experience beyond any other vineyard we saw or visited. The tasting rooms and walkable areas are situated atop a small mountain, requiring you to buy a gondola pass (15 minute ride) to go up to the top. Once atop this small mountain, there is a massive, sprawling experience of wine tastings available. There is an amazing walking tour, which takes you to all major facilities of the wine production cycle. There are wine tasting venues with panoramic views of the entire valley. For those who choose the hilltop experience, this very special building sits atop all others and has a truly unique experience. Your private wine tasting (Steven was absolutely amazing) is self paced and provides such a rich history of the vineyard, each wine, the fields, and more. I truly cannot say enough about this phenomenal experience.
Magical place to visit when traveling Napa. The only vineyard with a Sky Tram to the mountain tasting room. What a blast
I'm so happy we chose to stop her. More than just wine tasting. The views are wonderful. We went on a Tuesday. No crowds. The staff said, Monday - Wednesday are the best times to visit. Weekends are VERY busy.

Such a fun vineyard to visit. The gondola ride was fun, and took no time to get to the top. The view once there was beautiful. I really enjoyed waking through the facility to get to each tasting station.
🍷🍇 Sterling Vineyards in Calistoga, CA, is a true wine lover's paradise! Delicious wine and the views 😍
Rob has been fantastic!!! Thank you Rob for making our experience amazing here.
The gandola ride was cool. Otherwise super underwhelming, this is basically a $55 self tour where there’s no way to learn about wines except a few info boards and wall decors that I could’ve read online. No one tells you anything, you just walk from one point to the other and they give you a sip of wine at all 4 stops (maybe with a 10-20 second description of what’s in each wine). For a higher priced package you could sit at their dining area and order some food i guess. Won’t recommend
