Intriguing menu in that you have options as to what pasta you want and then options for what type of sauce you want. The salads are good, the butternut squash ravioli were excellent. The lasagna was different in that instead of layers of pasta it was more like a scoop of ground seasoned veal with spinach and cheese with some pasta on the size in a very tomato based sauce with limited seasoning. The wine list was basic but reasonably priced. The best deal is going on a Wednesday when there is no corkage fee, that makes it worth going back for dinner.
This pace has always been great. The owner is there often making sure everything is right. Great service and food. Everyone that works there is focused on customer service.

We came here with a large group of 16 people — and not only did the restaurant handle our reservation beautifully, but every single one of us left impressed. From start to finish, the service was warm, attentive, and accommodating, which is no small feat with a group our size. The menu had something for everyone — from fresh pastas and flavorful sauces to perfectly cooked meats and delicious seafood.
This place was great! I had the gnocchi with Salchicca sauce and my friend had the tuna special. It was perfect and we both enjoyed our meals. It’s a cute little local place and the service was top notch. I felt so welcome from the moment I walked in to the moment I left.

Nice spot. Food is tasty. Servers could be more friendly. A little smug when asked questions about the menu.
Giovanni greats all of the customers, and his description of the specials illustrates how passionate he is about his food and his restaurant. The salmon was amazing.

This has been my second time dining at Bistro 13 and though the first experience was good, the second was outstanding and worthy of review. Lexi (I believe was her name) was our server and she was absolutely perfect. She had impeccable timing and catered to my husband and Is date night flawlessly. Wine selection is wonderful and without significant markup from retail prices. The osso bucco special and lobster ravioli were amazing as well. Both items were a far cry from the overcooked steak I received on my first visit. 5 stars in everything except one star off ambiance due to the appearance of a seemingly broken heater near our table. (Just to nitpick)

The food and experience were just OK....won't be rushing back. Great service though, very kind and attentive staff.
We were originally headed somewhere else but couldn’t timely be accommodated for six. Nothing against that other place. Open Table found Bistro 13 with a quick seating time for our group. Check. Reviews were all excellent. Check.
From the time we were walked in we were treated like we had been frequenting the restaurant for years. Seated in 30 seconds, water filled, ambience quiet with Italian-style mood music, dim lighting, very friendly and competent staff. Everyone seemed like they had worked there for years and showed passion for the food. Very non intrusive, too - kept appropriate space to allow for personal conversations while working quietly around us- filling drinks without having to ask, clearing used dishes, etc. Check.
The food. Wow. Everything we had got shared because we had to experience the reactions each were having. Best marinara sauce any of us had ever had. No contest. Pasta cooked perfectly. There simply were no favorites because everything was excellent! Even the desserts were amazing and clearly not from Sysco like so many other places with the same out-of-the-box options. Check.
Walking to the car we decided that this was our best Camarillo restaurant experience, hands down. My dad said it was his best experience, ever. It simply checked every box. Shall we say, we will be coming back here as often as possible from now on. Congratulations team Bistro 13!

Wanted Italian for our anniversary. We've never been here and saw it was well rated. Wanted some garlic bread, but got white sandwich bread with butter. Server's were nice, but didn't give a much chance to look at menu. I ordered Sea Bass with risotto. Sea bass was awesome, but risotto was not hot like the fish. The salad was just ok, but the Italian dressing was great. My wife got pork loin with risotto and spinach. That was tasty and a good portion. Overall, the atmosphere was nice inside, considering it's in a shopping area with a movie theater nearby. Again, the service was good, but we don't really like to be hovered over too much. They were all polite, but I don't think anyone was Italian (not sure that has to matter, but I'm saying it anyway). Overall the food was good, but maybe a bit spendy. Almost $200 for 2 (including tip).
