Eclectic decor. A cross between Victorian and Chinese. Seems a bit out of touch. Food could have been fresher. I got a piece of beef that tasted bad of which I rejected. Service was good. The ladies were nice and attentive. Food needs an upgrade for us to go back.

I'm going to give Chester's a 4.5 . Definitely the decorations are "out of this world" but hey I like it that he doesn't take himself so seriously. It's kinda truly mad, but it is a good mom and pop Chinese restaurant and the beef is so tender. I'm also a fan of the sweet and sour chicken. He's really stepped it up recently with his recipes and flavor and it is again one of the better Chinese restaurants in Ventura County.

I've been coming here since 1986, I believe Chesters is 60+ years old, I think the food is good overall, better than most Chinese restaurants here in Camarillo, that being said, its Heyday is over. I ordered take out last night and was shocked at the current mark up (probably 30+%), I've been ordering essentially the same items for take out for ahhh just about forever. Last night those items were over 100$, the last time I ordered it 6 weeks ago it was maybe 72$ or thereabouts...yikes!!! That's a significant mark up, and of course as we all know the bill is never itemized. (You have to check the menu) anyway, I digress. Long story short, I'll continue to order here, but it will be far less frequent. Now I also realize everything has gone up since covid/ bidenomics but wow. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys their meals, just know it's more than a pretty penny.

Good and very friendly worker, owner very nice knows his regular customers. The price is worth your pocket. We come once or 2x/week.Vegetarian options: Chicken with lots of different kinds of Vegies-is the Best. But always to remind not to cook with too much salt and they would listen-thats what i liked about them.

Best Damn Chinese food in the region! We usually order to go over the phone because parking is hit or miss. We take take everyone there and no one has ever complained.

In late January 2024 I got takeout hot and spicy chicken lunch that comes with BBQ fried rice. There was a lot of BBQ fried rice and very little chicken. The chicken was neither hot nor spicy, it had absolutely no flavor. The BBQ fried rice was not much better. $15 for this abysmal meal, and to top it off I had moderate food poisoning for the next two days. Absolutely disgusting, I will never come back to this place.

Simply said GREAT FOOD! Service is always on point, portions are plentiful and the flavors are superb! For my sons 22nd birthday he specifically requested Chester's, we moved out of the area about 4 years ago not too far 25 minutes away so I called in a large order ahead of time, gave a pick up time and when I arrived I was told they just started cooking my food so ensure it was hot and fresh, no problem as I did show up a bit early. When it was done they had it all packed up neatly and in boxes for easy transport back home. They even threw in some "free food" what more can I say, the girl at the front was so sweet wishing my son a happy birthday and the older gentleman sitting down asked why we came all the way out to his restaurant? I shared that me and my kids ate there every Sunday after church while going through some tough times and that it was my son's request for his birthday. He was so grateful and thanked us for choosing his restaurant.

Best Chinese restaurant I've been to in a while. Definitely recommend the Mongolian Beef. Had the walnut shrimp and it was a good shrimp dish, would ease up on the sauce, but still great tasting. Had some other chicken dish that was also very good.
