I was excited to try this place when I saw it featured on a news channel. We arrived right when they opened, we were seated right away. We waited almost an hour for our food. I ordered the grilled pork chop, it was far from grilled. I love the pork chop from Larsen’s so I thought it would be similar. I was mistaken, this chop was full of fat and none of it was rendered. Needless to say we will not be going back.

The Flatbread i had was delicious, as was the potato skins, but the scampi pasta was over seasoned. The food delivery was very slow, the server did tell us the kitchen was backed up so it would take a bit. But even with being pre-warned it seemed to be too long. Just for the dessert it took 15 minutes, which was just ice cream cake

Waited almost 2 hours for food on Mothers Day… inexcusable! Terrible service but the atmosphere was nice. Server said the restaurant over books & the kitchen can’t handle the capacity of the orders. They definitely have some issues to work out.

Onyx is by far the best gem in the city. Not only is the food perfection the atmosphere and the staff go above and beyond. Seasonal Dishes always keep the menu fresh and exciting and the crème brûlée is out of this world. They always have vegan and gluten-free menu options that are actual dishes, not just a salads.
We went there for Mother’s Day brunch, the service and food were phenomenal. I highly recommend Onyx for any occasion.

I wish I would have known so I could prepare you for the evening. Who would have thought so many would arrive right at your opening?!? Your staff was friendly and helpful trying to accommodate the rush. The people attending enjoyed the appetizers you selected and loved your wine and beer selection. Many stayed for dinner and said how yummy their meal was. We also enjoyed a scrumptious dinner! Thank you Danielle and Mason and the rest of the staff! The food was excellent and the music was great. I just wish that they hadn’t thrown my leftovers away after 5 minutes. I literally came back within 5 minutes and they had thrown it away. Not cool and more than a little frustrating to be sure. DONT FORGET YOUR LEFTOVERS!
My daughter had chosen the Onyx Bistro for a dinner reception to celebrate her recent elopement. She worked with the owner and chose an incredible menu from appetizers, salads, main dishes, dessert, and wine. A few weeks prior to the party, we dropped in at Onyx so we could sample some of the food choices that she had selected. The food was exceptional - every bite. The service was exceptional - and they did not know that my daughter already had a signed contract for her event. I even ordered food to-go for my husband - and it was exceptional. Fast forward to the reception, I had come early on the day to assist with flowers and decor. The owner, Danielle, greeted me with such professionalism and sincerity that it was an absolute pleasure to work with her and her staff. The reception was everything my daughter was hoping for, from the delicious food and wine, to the magical atmosphere and service, all making for a joyful gathering to celebrate a wonderful couple. I couldn't recommend Oxyx Bistro enough; it is by far the best food I've had in Camarillo.
