I’m not sure what happened to this place but it’s so bad now. I keep coming back hoping the food is better but it just doesn’t get better. Do not recommend.

Our first time here. The ribs were extremely tasty. The rolls were huge, very large portions. You get a lot of food for the price. Spent about $70 for two special rolls, one order sushi, the dinner portion beef BBQ plate that came with a salad & rice, & one hot tea.We want to come back another time to try more. It might just be because of the particular rolls that we ordered, but they were pretty wet & the rolls themselves fell apart very easily (not just the toppings falling off) just with trying to pick them up & eat them. The mackerel sushi was okay. The beef BBQ ribs were very good, would order again. Plan to return in the future to try out other items & sushi to get a better gauge of the food. As of now, Sumo does not beat my current favorite sushi spot, but especially if you’re needing to feed a larger family/ group, this is a good option.Everyone that helped us was friendly. Plenty of free parking.

Rolls are a bit over priced. I get that bills and rent has to be paid but let aim for better quality fish, evenly cut rolls, and better food presentation.Parking: Open lot. Poor painted parking lines. Perfect set up for cars to park close to your and or susceptible to car getting dinged.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu.

HUGE, fresh rolls during happy hour and their baked mussels are some of the best I’ve had. Friendly, wonderful service from Sierra and the people making the sushi behind the bar were very helpful as well. My new favorite sushi spot in Camarillo!

The food there is good. I had garlic salmon roll and a crispy spicy tuna appetizer. The fried chicken appetizer was good. It has ginger flavor and crispy. The service was great, except they gave our fried scallop roll to another table. But we were too full to eat anyways. Didn't need those extra calories. Worked out!
We had the worst service. I will not return.. I had to wait there and wait there and wait so finally I asked is someone going to come over to help us? Passed by my table multiple times and didn't even say hello and ask what can I get you to drink.. then the owner showed up but about 30 mins into all this maybe later and the two servers perked up. I have no idea their names but it's the same two women servers I have seen. I stopped coming because of the service but I thought let me give it a try- nope. We will never be back. I love the salad and my husband likes the Ramen but the service is just too spotty. We also heard the table next to us get something to eat that was inedible. Also they forgot my roll and all the other food came out meanwhile waiting for a easy shrimp tempura roll which was not very good. Sumo please read your reviews and do better. You will soon loose customers and in this day and age competition is very real. Plenty of good places which I will return but sadly not to yours.

I GOT POISONED!!!I wouldn’t recommend this place unfortunately. I ordered “dinner special” meal + one roll from main menu and I got poisoned. I’m 100% sure that it was the reason because I didn’t eat anything else this day. After 2 hours approximately I got sick with 4 days consequences. That’s so sad that you can get something like that unexpectedly and ruin your holiday plans. I don’t recommend this place and probably I will never visit again…
