I don't like giving negative reviews but Sushi Fujiya has some issues that everyone should know before going. For one, the atmosphere is shabby. You can tell immediately as you walk in the door no love has been put into the decor of the restaurant, they literally have a flat screen TV on top of an ironing board that's on top of cinder blocks, while bumping techno music for some reason. No friendly greeting, with the exception of the teenage server/food runner/bus boys I didn't see anyone on the staff smile. So props to them. Me and my friends wanted to try the all-you-can-eat option cause there's really none around the area anymore. I've been to a lot of sushi bars in the past with an AYCE option, and a lot of them turn out to be complete scams, and Fujiya is no different. Every piece of nigiri had so much sushi rice you could barely taste the fish. Plus the sushi rice was not good, it was very hard, and wasn't sticky so when you try and dip the sushi in soy sauce it just falls apart. I could also tell starch was added to the rice to make it heavier. It's a trick a lot of shady AYCE sushi bars use to make customers fuller off rice. As for the fish, the salmon had a strong fishy smell and taste, which means it was a low quality fish. The tuna was very low quality, light pink, zero taste. I'm not even gunna start on the Uni. All the food we had looked like it was from a sushi chef that hates his job. Very sloppy, very sad, zero passion. To top it off, what I assume was the manager or owner came up and basically said they weren't going to make the rest of our first round (you get 3 rounds) until we finished what they already brought out, there was only a few pieces so we were confused why she felt the need to do that. We told the lady to just make a few more pieces from our first round and forget the rest of our order so we could just pay the bill and leave. Everything we needed to know about this place was clear enough. Even the family sitting next to us said out loud as they were leaving "don't bother saying bye, they don't care." Wow. It's unfortunate but I can't recommend Fujiya to anyone. If you're on a budget there are a lot of other options around. Shabby atmosphere, unfriendly "management", low quality fish, and if you can't make sushi rice you really shouldn't be a sushi bar. Out of the 15-20 items I tried not one of them made me say "that's really good, I want more", not one. I'm actually surprised how bad this place is. I suppose maybe the quality level gets better if you don't get the AYCE option but from this first experience I'd rather go back to Take 5 next door and have a beer before I ever come back to Sushi Fujiya. I'm leaving 2 stars because of the two friendly teen servers/food runners. One for each of them. The chef and the manager/owner whoever she was, need to change their attitudes and put some pride into their restaurant or fire themselves.

Terrible, we will not be returning. Their customer service was poor, and the sushi was tough, and it didn't taste fresh.

Discriminatory Treatment Towards Service Animal Owners I regret to say that I will not be returning to this establishment. If you are a person with a disability who relies on a service animal, I strongly advise against visiting here due to the discrimination I experienced. Let me recount a recent incident: about a month ago, my mom, boyfriend, service animal, and I entered the restaurant. Despite my service animal not wearing her vest, which is not legally required but understandable for confusion, the owner, Lisa, insisted on seeing paperwork, which is illegal to request. After I cited ADA laws, she reluctantly allowed us in but seated us away from the main area. Despite my mom's attempt to educate her on ADA rights, Lisa remained dismissive. Yesterday, on March 25th, 2024, my boyfriend and I returned to celebrate a special occasion. Despite my service dog wearing her vest and behaving, we were once again met with staff saying they don't allow dogs. I had to remind them of her service status. Lisa seated us in a cramped booth, far from ideal for my service animal to assist me. Despite our request for a larger booth to accommodate friends joining us, Lisa refused, saying, and I quote, "no no that is the main area", glancing down at my service animal and then back at me, saying we could move to a booth further in the back and treated us unfairly compared to other patrons. This discriminatory treatment towards people with disabilities is unacceptable. I hope the staff receives proper education on ADA laws and learns to treat all patrons with respect and dignity. As someone who relies on a service animal, I urge fellow service animal owners to seek establishments that respect their rights.

I felt like I was robbed, losing a whole 30 minutes of my life. Having pre-ordered online, I was confident I would receive my order on time. However, when I came to pick it up, I was told to wait just 10 minutes. After 30 minutes had passed, my patience wore thin, and only then was my order finally handed over to me. This is unacceptable and seems like some sort of mockery of customers. 2/10

Really good sushi. All you can eat I believe is $35-$38 per person if I’m remembering correctly. Great food and drink options with friendly staff. Highly recommend the baked green mussels and the baked salmon roll with spicy tuna.

First time visit. Ordered the albacore roll, delish. The spicy edamame, great flavor but drenched in oil. My second roll, the caterpillar roll. The menu list, eel roll with avocado. I received a roll woth fried eel and topped with avo. I took a bit and it was terrible. Eel tasted old and like bad fry oil. I told the waiter that the menu didn't say it was fried. I wouldn't have ordered it. I also said it wasn't good. He left, came back and said there was nothing to be done and I'd be billed and they wouldn't replace it. Really? I'd understand if I didn't "like it" but they served me something that was made as described on their menu. The sushi was good but there are too many sushi places in cam to return to a business that doesn't seem to care about their customers.

Our party of three had one bento w/ salmon & and tempura, one salmon bowl, and one AYCE. Our dinners were beautifully prepared and arranged - everybody was happy. The fish and the scallops were fresh and of good quality. The salmon bowl was like a traditional Japanese take on a poke bowl, with a bright rice vinegar dressing, julienned turnip and other veg, plus seaweed salad and lots of salmon. Very nice! The AYCE orderer got (a little) carried away, still enjoyed every bite.Friendly service, old-school California Japanese restaurant decor, good value. Well be back.
