Stopped in on my way to an early Saturday morning walk-a-thon thing for charity I was attending. Never been to this place, read some good Yelp reviews. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon. Drove away, eating while I drove. I personally really like spicy food, but this burrito was SUPER hot. Like habanero hot. I could only take 2 bites, which sucked because I was really hungry. I could not help but think they saw the wedo waiting for the burrito and thought they'd mess with me. They ended up messing with me for the whole day because that burrito messed up my stomach big time. I went back there after on my way home and let the girl behind the counter know what I suspected had happened. Even though she apologized and offered me another one, she was kind of smiling and I could tell that she knew I had guessed right. Even if they have good food here, I'll never go back to find out. Why do this to a customer?? Probably 10 really dependably good Mexican places within 2 miles of my house. This place is off my list.

Food: the food was delicious, the portion was solid, the salsa bar was a nice bonus. Service: the service was great, no complaints Ambiance: nice little restaurant, I can imagine if it were a busy day it'd feel cramped. Only con is that they give cheap plastic ware which melted in my food so I had to get a new set. Expect to pay ~$30 for 2 people.

Best burrito in town. It is a small restaurant with only one cashier so there is often a long wait if you go at lunch time. Also, there is an up charge if you use a credit card.

Chiliquilas were amazing! ?Quesotavo didn’t have enough cheese on the outside and don’t come with the promised consome ?The asada loaded fries were really good!Order was ready really fast!Friendly staff.

Snack for lunch. If you're looking for a place for a quick lunch, it's great. Excellent very filling burrito. You don't have to be too picky. Sore point: they don't do separate waste collection.

Not a bad spot for some Mexican. I've watched their menu evolve over the years and I find the food to be hit or miss depending on what you order. I would say everyone should at least try their chorizo here. That's one thing that is always good. The place is small with only a few tables so you are best to order your food to go. This place competes with Establos across the street and they haven't gone out of business yet. That's saying something for sure. Overall a nice little authentic Mexican restaurant in a long line of Mexican restaurants in Camarillo.

We haven’t eaten here in a couple years and I’m disappointed I’ve been missing out. My family inhaled their dinner. Their quesabirria tacos were AMAZING and the consomé so flavorful. I also ordered a crispy carnitas taco and it was so simple but so delicious. We’ll be back!

Friendly staff.Food quality could use some work. The ramen was unique, which is nice.It could use more depth of flavor and balance. The ceviche was very grey and sad--wouldn't recommend. Uncooked seafood is always a gamble, I guess. The quesataco was very good--do order that!Shrimp taco was also suspect--unclear if it was frozen shrimp or just overcooked. The fish taco was fine.

Do not sleep on Taqueria Portillos! I hadn't been to this spot in years and was craving some tacos but wanted a break from my usual taco shops in Camarillo. I remembered this place was nearby the train station so decided to give them a try and I instantly regretted that I had forgotten about this spot over the years. It's fire!!! I think the reason I forget about this spot is that it's hard to see off the main drag. It's kind of tucked away in that busy corner near the Mexican market and train station in Downtown Camarillo. It's definitely easy to forget about due to the location and likely even harder to find if you don't know it's there. That's why I hope to get the word out as the good is super good and service was majorly friendly and welcoming the day I came. Stopped in on a weekday and the gal working the counter was so lovely. She was very sweet and kind. She gave me a nice compliment and what girl doesn't love a good compliment? She was friendly and repeated my order correctly and rang me up with a smile on her face. I felt super comfortable and just left in a good mood having a good experience when it came to staff/service. For take out I ordered the carnitas super tacos and one Birria taco to try. They were both delicious and super flavorful. The Birria was very tasty and authentic but I didn't order consume as I didn't want such a messy bite. It was perfect. The real winner for me personally was the carnitas and super style. Mega packed flavor and toppings this is a tasty carnitas taco. More on the fatty side which isn't an issue for me, normally I like more crunch to my pork but the style in which they are cooked here is just really good, even without the crunchy bites. Super filling too when you get them super style as that comes with additional toppings like cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Pro tip: they also have one of the best Jamica drinks here. I love Jamica and here it's perfectly sweet without being tart and just very memorable. It was delicious and when I want a good agua Fresca at least I know they make good batches here. Prices were reasonable and service was super quick. The restaurant itself is small but clean and very much a local hole in the wall spot. No frills but food that is 5 stars easily for a casual Mexican restaurant. Just to note: they serve birria ramen here....i could definitely be interested!

Really great service and the food is authentic. I tried their burritos, huevos rancheros, torta ahogada, and quesadillas. Be sure to ask for their sauce for torta ahogada if you're a spicy
