During our vacation in Cambria, CA, we explored several wineries, but our visit to Black Hand Cellars was a standout. After grabbing coffee across the street, we wandered into this charming winery and were warmly greeted by one of the owners, whose hospitality set the tone for an exceptional experience. Intrigued by their wine tasting, we dove right in, sampling their full range of wines. Each pour was a delight, with bold, memorable flavors that showcased the winery's craftsmanship. The unique bottles and creative labels, especially the Bootlegger which at that time was label-free; nod to prohibition-era charm, added a playful touch to the experience.
We couldn't resist purchasing a few bottles, including the Bootlegger, which paired perfectly with the season finale of MobLand, its rich, distinctive taste elevating our viewing night. The wines were so impressive that we're already planning to order more online. Beyond the stellar wines, the personal connection we formed with the owner through engaging conversations made the visit truly special. Among all the wineries we visited in Cambria, Black Hand Cellars stood out for its exceptional wines, warm atmosphere, and memorable hospitality. We can't wait to return and highly recommend you visit to create your own unforgettable experience.
Great location and friendly staff! Loved the one.
Very good wine Usually, I don't like southcoast Cabernet blends or Cabernet . But these were both very tasty. The grenash was also nice. Bought a bottle of the red blink will be recommending to friends and customers.
Excellent wines. The winemaker is fun and knowledgeable, and the tasting room is tiny and comfortable.
Great service, great wine, great vibe!! Owner and employee made us feel very welcome and chatted with us! They are starting live music on Saturday nights and the wife and I will be back for that for sure!
Good wine.. Owner was pleasant. Recommend a stop..
We enjoyed wine tasting here last Sunday afternoon. There are both a nice patio and attractive indoor space. There are snacks, which I always appreciate. The owner pours the wine himself, and is very kind.
Wonderful wine tasting experience. Tom the owner is super friendly!

Great boutique winery. We've been wine club members since 2012 and look forward to each shipment. Have loved every wine we've gotten. Highly recommend stopping in for a tasting!

Great owners, atmosphere, story....oh and great wine too! Been tasting there since shortly after they opened the tasting room about 11 years ago. First place we went wine tasting after returning since moving out of state. They even have cider now!
A great, friendly, little place to visit for some great wine. We always feel welcome here and love to stop in for a glass to try, a bottle to take home, or just to grab something from the assortment of pasta and olive oil they have set up in the shop. If Tom is there, make sure to ask about the history of Black Hand, great story. The Cidar is also wonderful.
Nice wines
Although a somewhat limited selection, all the wines were well made. Soft yet complex with a nice craftsmanship. I was lucky to have the owner and wine maker pour the wines, which was a great experience.
Great selection of limited production wines. Owner and winemaker does the pouring most days. He is very enjoyable to talk to (reminded me of Chris Farley). Will definitely go back!
