Great New Year’s Eve. Dinner. We arrived at 6 PM and we’re seated immediately. The restaurant was decked out for New Year’s Eve and music played in the background. Everyone had hats and tiaras on to celebrate each table had a balloon and it was a festive mood. We were offered sparkling wine or champagne and opted for the champagne to help us celebrate. We both ordered the pork tenderloin with a olliBerry sauce and were not disappointed. It was a generous serving and included mashed potatoes and mixed Julene veggies. Even though we had started our New Year’s resolutions, we opted for a hot fudge Sunday type of dessert. Everything was excellent, and the bill for the dinner was actually quite reasonable for New Year’s Eve. We will definitely go back and recommend this restaurant to our friends who visit the area. They are famous for serving a white and brown bread baked in a small terra-cotta pot. This is one of their signature dishes on the menu and everyone gets their bread served this way.
This inconspicuous restaurant in Cambria turned out to be a lucky find on our trip through California. This is a cosy and dignified cottage-style steakhouse. The pot roast with mashed potatoes was excellent, as was the tender Sirloin Steak. Our desserts, crème brûlée and white chocolate cake, also convinced. The service was friendly and prompt. The only criticism is the too weak lighting in the restaurant. Overall, we were very satisfied and would return to Sow's Ear at any time.
Scampi's great, but too much wine in it

We had The Sow’s Ear cater our Thanksgiving Dinner this year and it was fabulous! We’re visitors up in Cambria for a family party, and no one was up to cooking an entire dinner. Michaela and her husband took care of this for us perfectly. From arriving when they said they would to the Flower Pot Bread, turkey, amazing gravy, to-die-for sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, cranberry relish, veggies, salad with homemade dressings - and don’t forget the pumpkin pie - we would do it again without thinking twice!

This restaurant offers fine dining with gourmet offerings. My husband had the short ribs, and I had the shrimp scampi. both were very good but not amazing. the service was excellent and the atmosphere soothing.

We had the most excellent dinner here.,Erwin our waiter was fantastic and let us order a meal that was not normally on the dinner our menu. It was a Grilled Chicken dish glazed with a peach sauce…so incredibly great and the vegetables and salad were also great. They serve bread in a clay pot. It’s fantastic. Erwin made sure we did not leave as we came in for that specific dish but he said no problem we could have it. He made us two very happy customers. Ask for Erwin. He’s the best!!!!
