This place is ok. With the name, I just expected more, but it was nothing short of any other café really. We stumbled in closer to closing time (which is pretty early for a Sunday - 3pm?), so that's probably why we ended up with less fresh pastries. Both items we ordered tasted fine; scone was extra dry. The coffee was meh. My hot chocolate was bland and they ran out of syrup so they could not make my original request of peppermint hot chocolate. The person ringing us up forgot one pastry so we had to do an add-on, wasting more of our time bc it was closing soon. I would go back if it was the only café around, but overall, it was just OK.

I've had their pastries before and they were good but today we ordered egg sandwiches, one bacon on the burger bun, and one sausage on the biscuit. They were both really bad. The bacon seemed under cooked and the sandwich itself had such a funky taste I couldn't eat it and had to throw it away. The sausage biscuit was also very weird. The biscuit had so much butter it felt wet and undercooked. The cappuccinos were also disappointing. Not sure what's going on there but we definitely won't go back. Manresa may be just living off their name and former reputation.

Never had avocado toast like this. It felt like a salad. Not very appealing honestly

4% surcharge?
Not out or posted when I asked the cashier said it was like a tax!
Then I asked why it was listed as a surcharge and she pulled out a sign from underneath counter?
You need to fallow the letter of the law and keep this posted !
Two mediocre Croissants for $10 plus a surcharge and tip ?
Two months ago was in Paris and two Croissants where less then €3 at multiple patisserie’s every time and where all amazing so guess I should just give up on even get that sort of experience state side !
I know the cost of living and rent is high here in California but would guess the cost of that in Paris would be even higher?

Only ever tried their kouign amann pastries but they're enough to keep us coming back for more!
These are absolutely delicious, they're flaky and buttery like a croissant and have a caramelized topping that is to die for! Will keep coming back :)

I've had Manresa bread and pastries before, they are ok. Most recent visit I ordered coffee and croissant and was told they don't accept cash so I left. I could have used card but it should be considered that many people do not have easy access a bank account. Not allowing cash transactions is classist.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go for a really excellent latte and a pastry. Lately, they switched beans from Verve to some other roaster and it went from a really lovely complex flavor to tasting like a slightly less burnt version of Starbucks. And the clientele that are here during farmers markets on Sundays can be really obnoxious. The people that work there are lovely though!

Tables and chairs had crumbs all over. Apparently they don’t clean them after customers leave. I had to clean my table by myself. Nobody at the store noticed I was doing third job. 2 out of 3 ordered items came wrong! Waitress was snippy and snatched the wrong replacement order back to kitchen without apologies ! Not classy! I list total appetite and left! Manager does not seem to know how to treat customers who had bad dining experience! Unpleasant dining experience! This place used to be crowded. I wonder more people had the same experience and did not return! This location needs the owners attention!

Manresa is awesome, just don’t get anything heated up. We’ve been coming there for last three years off and on and they have yet to figure out how to heat up the quiche, or anything for that matter. It’s ALWAYS cold in the middle. They’re happy to put it back in the oven for another few minutes, still cold. One more time? Yup, cold middle. How about a turkey sandwich heated up? Unmelted cheese and cold in the middle. Give it a few more minutes in the oven? Still cold
Obviously the oven is too high, the outside browns, the middle stays cold. It’s persisted like this for two years.
In the end you will always leave disappointed how they can miss the mark on the most basic of tasks. The staff is aware of the issue but no resolve has ever occurred. Instead, customers simply consume the cold food and think to themselves, guess I won’t be back.

I was disappointed with the service. The pastries were overly sweet, and there wasn't much variety available
