This place does not deserve to be called Tail O' the Pup. I have gone to the original for 20+ years and was sad when they closed, then happy when they reopened. I was even happier when I saw that this one opened in the Valley. What a disappointment. My wife's exact words when I came to the table were "Don't eat that, the chili looks a week old". She was right, but I took a bite anyway. Rather than the chili dripping down it fell off in clumps it was so dry. $10 I won't get back. Do not waste your time or $$. Go to the original or go to Cupid just minutes away. Seriously!!!

I got the 1946 special… And we added sauerkraut. The sauerkraut was all right. The mustard was great. The hotdog needs to be grilled not boiled. It had no taste no flavor… In fact, it didn’t even taste like a hotdog. It tasted like a rubber toy.

Nothing spectacular. I got the jalapeño pup, but the only heat from it came from the sliced jalapeños on top. The casing on the hot dog was really tough to get thru, and the hot dog didn't fit in the bun at all which I know is a gimmick but why not just use a bigger bun? The fries were really good though and the food didn't take long to come out

Pros -best chili in the valley -ample parking Cons -cheese is artificial not grated cheese

The absolute worst hot dog I have ever eaten. Horrible bun to compliment the lousy beef. This is the only 1 star review I have ever given in yelp!

I live for their chili cheese fries here. The fries are always nice and meaty to hold up to all the toppings. Nicely fried each time! But if you look at the two pictures of two separate times I've ordered the same thing, you'll see it's quite inconsistent. I'll keep coming back and ordering more chili cheese fries to have more data but not mad about it enough to stop going. Bottom line is it tastes good regardless lol

This has been the most disappointing hotdog experience of my life. I was eager to try this place, but the food was far from satisfactory. The bun was not toasted and cold, while the hotdog itself felt hard and dry, as if it had been left on the flat top since the day before. Overall, it was a truly unpleasant experience.Do not recommend at all!

Everything you expect from the LA classic, but with air-conditioning! Nestled inside the Topanga Social venue at Westfield Topanga, this smaller version of the LA icon, and while the menu isn't identical to the original location, this is miles beyond your normal mall hot dog stand.I have to say that the star of this place is the onion rings... these are classic, like I used to get when I was a kid. No panko, no strange seasonings, just classic good ol' onion rings. They have a selection of dipping sauces, our favorites are the burger sauce and the ranch. For hot dogs, the 1946 is our favorite, a split and grilled hot dog with mustard and grilled onions on a toasted bun. They offer bottled drinks, and as I recommend at all the restaurants in Topanga Social, grab the drink from the back of the fridge because the ones in the front are always warm.Like all the other eateries in Topanga Social the service is kiosk or phone only. They will page you when your order is up (and this place is pretty good about paging you right as it is ready in our experience). A good option, especially for kids, while you are visiting the Westfield Topanga mall.

Took over 30 minutes for 2 plain hot dogs and one order of fries. The one guy there tried to say he was waiting on our food???? Like it wasnt made there?? The bun was rock hard, hot dog not juicy. I asked for raw onions instead of grilled. They DID NOT have raw onions (it was on the menu items) This was a horrible experience all the way. Poor service, poor food. But Topanga Social seemed like a good vibe. Tail o the pup will NOT last here.

For the price you pay, you don't really get much food. Don't come here if you're real hungry.

Well that's not the Tail of the Pup I remember. Ordered Chili dog and corn dog on a stick. The chili was tasteless dark burn dry very old. Corn dog very gluey on the inside. Very long wait 15 minutes. Couldn't eat. Needs a very skilled Manager to make sure food is prepared right. This is a customer service business. Help!Kid-friendliness: Kind was just O.K. Needs more food preparation training. This customer service. Needs to be the best hot dog in mind. What we were given was not made right. Training! Help!

Website claimed they had a bunch of vegetarian and vegan options but went in person and there is none of that at all.
