This coffee bar is NEVER open. NEVER EVER EVER. I call every morning, and the manager pretends to look, but she knows it's not... It is almost NEVER EVER open! They NEVER have their coffee bar open, WHY? It's ridiculous. They have good coffee - but - APPARENTLY their budgets are set up with separate chunks of money going to each separate department & they SAY "they don't have a budget for the coffee counter" & other nonsense like that.
I do not know why they cannot hire someone to make smoothies and coffee for the hours that it says that it's open, it's not. The coffee bar is NEVER OPEN at this store, NEVER. They have NOBODY working at the coffee bar! You would be lucky, it would be one in 100 chance that you will get a day when their coffee bar is open here, and the worst part is that they don't seem to care AT ALL. It is RIDICULOUS.
They have good coffee. All they have to do is BREW SOME and put out some cream and sugar, & then have someone who knows how to brew shots. It's NOT HARD - they just WON'T do it. I've complained a bunch of times to these people & it's only supposed to be open till 3:00 p.m. It's ONE shift!
I've asked for an application telling them I will do it, just to have consistent coffee that doesn't cost $12. I am going away from all of the corporate coffee, & I can't stand coming to this place, looking at that beautiful coffee bar and it saying "drink bar closed."
WHY is it even there then????

When we were in Capitola, we went to the Whole Foods Store in Capitola . They have lots of great food. Although prices are a bit higher, quality is very good. Service was good too.

This grocery store is very overrated and VERY overpriced. 1st off, ALL food is organic. NOT all food is pesticide free. There is a BIG difference between the two. My only recommendation is the bakery. Reasonably priced cakes, etc.

Small store, but great selection and extremely helpful staff. The family enjoyed the daily buffet selection, and we were able to buy all the food necessities for our between meal snacks....clean bathrooms.

Great quality and service when you want something special, but it is a a bit spendy for basic household needs, hence the name "Whole Paycheck" for a lot of folks. Listed as a restaurant, but the dining area next to the parking lot outside is not at all scenic, with the busy street and parking lot, although convenient for people working in that same shopping center, if they can afford to eat there.

This is the coffee counter INSIDE of Whole Foods, just as an FYI. So you will not see a sign for it from the street. They serve all kinds of hot and cold coffee and tea drinks, as well a smoothies, etc. Staff are always friendly, and you can bring your own drink vessel if you choose to be eco friendly. Pastries etc are available just like at most whole foods. There is some seating indoors, but even more seating in a decent and often sunny outdoor area. This whole foods location also has a breakfast selection on the hot bar in the mornings if you are looking for something more robust yet still quick in the morning.
