Unfortunately our experience wasnāt what we were expecting from this diner. When we walked in it had a strange smell and we were directed to seat ourselves at āwhatever tableā would fit our party of eight. There was just one other table with customers in the whole restaurant which was odd. When it came to our food, we ordered two orders of chicken and waffles but the waiter returned and said they only had enough chicken for one of the orders and that they had frozen chicken strips that they could make for the other. My husband and mother in law were not happy with their chicken burgers because the chicken was disproportionately smaller than the bun so there was a chunk of their burger that had no meat. When we were done eating the waiter took a very long time to give us our check even after she had already cleared the table and saw that we were done. Overall it wasnāt a great experience and we had already made up our mind while we were there that we wouldnāt return or recommend Capitola Diner to anyone.
