We ordered the tofu scramble and Chow mei. Both were very good , and came in large portions. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-28

Anytime I visit Santa Cruz. I have to go to my favorite restaurant and get vegan gluten-free chicken chow mein and sit by my favorite indoor plant. 💕🦋

What kind of restaurant is this? You have to order your own food and pick up your own food. They don't bring your food out to your table ; Then what's the whole point of tipping if basically I have to do it all ? Keep in mind the trades are heavy and im kind of short. I don't appreciate how some restaurant like this get away with things like that. I don't work here to be doing there jobs. The food wasn't even good neither. I would definitely not come back here again.

Food is excellent. Easy to find parking close to the beach and relaxing environment. I love it.

We ordered bo Thai , kichri , avacado toast garlic bread and protobello sandwich everything was excellent but my top 3 were bo Thai, avacado toast and garlic bread!!! The restaurant is simple and clean, it's more like you order at the counter then go ahead and pick up the order and you clean it up as well. But everything we got was very clean and tasty

My partner and I have dined here a number of times just this year. We enjoy a couple of dishes (cornbread, vegan chili, spring rolls), and have tried a number of other dishes - most disappointing and too expensive.

Organic chips and salsa were clearly out of bags and jars. Edamame was a very small portion served with salt thrown on the top and with a single slice of lemon, most cooked and some not so much.

The worst part was Friday, August 1st. We ordered roasted potatoes. We got half-cooked, oil-drenched potatoes. We asked nicely for them to be fully roasted, and the waiter was clearly annoyed at the ask. When he brought them back, some were burnt, and others were still not fully cooked all the way through. My partner nicely asked for a refund for the item, and that's when things got really fun: Two young ladies and the man all gathered and were whispering and looking over at us. I made eye contact with one young lady after they separated, and she stared me down.

Do better Dharma's. Train your staff to be kind to your customers. Having people act like they are in middle school was unexpected and really unacceptable. Charging too much for mediocre food just to cater to those of us who eat a plant-based diet is not ok. I hope management has a chat with these rude children and they try harder in the kitchen.

I’ve been eating here since they were on East Cliff and had a Mc in their name. The food is always good but recently the prices have soared beyond what I can afford. $30 for a plate of rice and vegetables is expensive. That’s without table service and bussing your own dishes. I was there today and 2 different groups came in, looked at the menu and left. I know inflation has hit us all but I ‘m sorry, I can’t pay those prices

Food was very mediocre. Both bowls used plain spaghetti noodles instead of Asian noodles. For over $20 a bowl I would expect better. Dan Dan noodles was bland. Chicken Chow Chow Mein was tastier, but substituted vegetables that made even less authentic. Sure, it's not an Asian restaurant, but I was disappointed the food wasn't better.

i absolutely love this restaurant! They have such a wide variety of dishes, and what I really appreciate is how well informed the cashiers are they always know exactly what each dish contains. And if they’re unsure, they double check with a detailed ingredients list, which I find so thoughtful. There are so many vegan and no onion/no garlic options available, which is perfect for my dietary needs. The staff at the register are incredibly kind and sweet just the best service all around. Highly recommend!

I have been coming here since I was a child and it was located by sunnys cove, I love this restaurant, I always doordash it and lately the portions of what I order seem small for the price, I wish I could say no chips as well as a choice. I usually dont comment on portion size but the size doesn't match the price. I will continue to order from this amazing restaurant, but maybe they could bump up size of my 3 dog morning burrito. Love you Dharmas

I ordered the vegan pesto pasta. The pasta rice noodles were overcooked and mushy. Tasteless! This dish was recommended by the guy at the register. I told the lady at the counter about my dish as I was ordering avocado toast. She didn’t seem to care and didn’t offer a refund. I later told the guy about my baby food tasting pasta. He didn’t offer a refund either. The avocado toast was better. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

This was an absolute joke. I ordered two quesadillas for $27 to go and what I got was two flimsy taco shells with melted cheese inside and a pile of shredded lettuce. That’s not a quesadilla—that’s lazy, insulting, and straight-up robbery. You seriously charged full price for something I could’ve thrown together at home for $3.50 in five minutes. Complete waste of money and a total ripoff. I won’t be coming back, and I’ll make sure others know to avoid this place too.

Dharma's was located in a nice area and the decor was nice. However, I wouldn't recommend going to this restaurant.

The food was not good at all. We ordered Brahma Burger, which was dry, and the Indian curry, which was not Indian at all.

The Indian curry had maple syrup, which wasn't even listed in the ingredients on the menu. When I talked to the restaurant about this concern, I was told that they put maple syrup in everything and this is how they have been cooking for years. They were very much unwilling to do anything about it. It was disheartening to get this kind of response.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
