The best bakery in the whole area. The bread and pastry selections are second to none. Excited to return for the deli items. Everyone should go to Gayle’s

LOVE! If you've never been here, it's a must try! The food is AMAZING and the little area to eat with the fireplace is adorable too! The service is fast and professional, especially with how busy it always is, and you can just tell the employees care about their work! 10/10 recommend!

Mushroom turnover and tuna sandwhich were super delicious. The place is nice and spacious as well. The ordering process, if you are new, is a little chaotic. It took us a bit of time to realize we needed to take a ticket number in order to put an order in. We thought they were announcing numbers for order pick-ups, lol. The staff were all super friendly and kind though!

Can be crazy busy so we like to go early! The staff is great at explaining and guiding you to the best tasty treats when you need some helping not buying everything! This is a priority stop when I am in the area and have ordered many birthday cakes here as well
Stopped making Carpo bread. Even if the restaurant stopped ordering from them. They could have kept making it. It always sold out. Nobody will say what happened.
It is surprising that they don't have at least one wheat free dessert. Good thing Capitola also has an awesome gluten free bakery. If you can handle wheat, Gayle's is a great bakery if you can't, you are out of luck.

Gayle's used to be great but not so much anymore. A friend and I ordered about 8 bakery items for a brunch and only one or two were worth repeating. They seemed stale, bland. I live in Santa Cruz and no longer shop there

Gayle's is very popular, I think it's overrated. Food is usually limp and/or stale. Terribly crowded and hectic.

Very pleasant atmosphere. I really appreciate that they don't shove tipping in your face; the person who wrung me up didn't even give me the option of tipping when paying by credit card. A welcome respite from that pressure. Also, the salted Carmel covered creampuffs were friggin good!!
