Marina did the cake for a special birthday. She did an amazing cake. The cake was beautiful and it was delicious. One layer was chocolate and the other lemon with berry. Will definitely order in the future for another special birthday. Note this was two years ago but finally on Yelp so I had to write this review.

I booked a cake tasting in January and paid the $40. At the last minute, Marina cancelled. She still has not returned my money and on her website it says she will be out of touch until May and will not check email or phone. Also, she has no contact email on her website, only a form you submit, so I can't email her even if she was checking it. Yelp review said she was flakey but we gave her a shot anyway. Should've just heeded the warning.

Super disappointed!!!! Scheduled an appointment and got stood up. Tried calling to get a hold of someone and never received any calls back. Only received a bunch of open ended emails. Even on WeddingWire.com I couldn't get any responses. I get it if your busy but at least try to follow up. So bummed, was really hoping to see all the beautiful work I've heard so much about.

Ordered a sample box for a cake tasting. Marina texted me the morning of to cancel the box stating she was out of town and there was a "glitch" in the system. She offered a refund. After three weeks of trying to contact her via calls, texts and emails I have not been contacted or refunded. Wish I would have read the current poor yelp reviews sooner.

I'm also really sad to put a one star, but unfortunately, I never heard back from Marina. We had a cake tasting appointment on December 15, 2018. She cancelled via text at the last minute due to a family emergency. I never heard back from her, and was never able to reschedule our tasting. I disliked the canned responses - especially the one thanking me to coming to her studio for a tasting that never happened!

Holy cannoli! We worked with Marina for our travel themed wedding. She created a cake beyond anything we could have ever imagined! We had asked for the cake to look like vintage luggage and Marina certainly achieved that goal. Many of our guests did not even realize it was a cake. Not only did the cake look amazing, but it tasted divine as well. We had one layer that was chocolate with raspberry and the second was lemon with raspberry. A lot of our guests wanted both flavors! We would highly recommend Just Cake!

I put down a $80.00 deposit to have a 4 person cake tasting. I was going to have them make a cake for my soon to be my grandmas 90th surprise party. 10days before my appointment with Marina I had canceled by leaving them a voice mail also left a email. I never got call back. But the day before my appointment they sent me email reminding me of my appointment and gave me the option to cancel or reschedule. I did what the email said and canceled my appointment. In my email to them back with me canceling my appointment I asked when they were going to refund my credit card with $80.00. Since June 10,2018 I have not gotten a refund or got a call from Marina or her staff. I get that she's very busy making cakes but still does not give her A pass or the right to treat people in this fashion. I believe the way she carries her self as a business owner is very distasteful. Sad part is no where on her page or when you set up your taste testing does it say they keep your money. Well I've learned my lesson never do business with someone that you seen on TV because everyone puts a act on for the cameras.

Daughter's wedding cake was perfect. When I read the great reviews and then saw that one star with no comment I had to add mine. Although it was awhile ago Marina made the cake for my daughter's wedding. Besides being a beautiful cake it also was so delicious. Marina made a cake containing three different flavors since there were people who only wanted white cake and others wanting red velvet (me). It was memorable and delicious!

She even had the perfect cake stand that I could rent for my wedding day. After the consultation, I sent a follow-up email to confirm a few things, and never heard back. After multiple follow up emails to check in and voicemails, I never heard back. It's been a month now, and I have to find another cake for my wedding. I'm worried that something happened Marina since it's been so long without any communication. Hope all is well with her. She does beautiful work!
Pretty bad service. I had to email 3 times and left a voicemail to finally get a response that they were booked for my date. My wedding is almost a year a half away. This was on one of my venues list of vendors to reach out to and will definitely be giving them this feedback.

Marina made my cake for my graduation party and it was so great that she also baked for my cousin's party too! From cakes to cupcakes and sweets, she does it all. We tested different flavored cakes beforehand and discussed style; she is amazing to work with and her desserts are amazing to view and to taste!

My review follows, but I thought I would kick it off with 3 quotes from our wedding guests: "This is the single best wedding cake I have ever eaten." "I did not feel worthy to consume the wedding cake. It was that delicious!" "The cake was so good I ate 5 pieces. Sorry!" Marina Sousa is a genius. Her cakes are not only incredibly delicious, but they are truly beautiful works of art. Usually you get one or the other - a cake that is beautiful but tastes just "ok" or a cake that is so yummy but the presentation is so-so. My husband and I worked with Marina on our wedding cake. I secretly worked with Marina on a surprise grooms cake, which turned out perfectly, and I also had my planner work with her on making slices of cake our takeaway wedding favor at the end of the night (which guests LOVED). Marina was responsive, diligent, and used her creativity to make all of the things work for our New Year's Eve wedding. She even let us do a bunch of design revisions to our cake two months before the wedding, when we had a better sense of what the look/feel of our reception would be. Our wedding cake was breathtaking, but show-stoppingly good. My sister also used Marina for her wedding in 2014 and the outcome was exactly the same (delicious, unforgettable wedding cake + beautiful design). Marina truly takes the cake!

If you are looking for something other than a regular cake, Marina is the person to talk to. She it totally personable and will take your vision and make reality. We love her!
