Just popped in to grab a quick lunch. The restaurant is very clean and in great condition. We live close and have been coming here for years. We used to love the happy hour and music, but since Covid and the big storms things have changed. Everyone has rooted for the Capitola businesses and things seem to be back to normal. The service was great and we were not very hungry so we split a burger and fries. The burger had a very thin patty and was overcooked. I ordered medium and it just wasn't very good. I hate giving a not so great review but in all honesty it should have been lower. I am hoping things improve but for a twenty dollar hamburger it was really weak.

Some of the best food, drinks and service I've had anywhere. it's been refreshed indoors and the view from the patio can't be beat.

Not your average beach grill. This place is a culinary adventure. I went for the fish and chips (which were superb) but everything we had (coconut prawns, clam chowder, breadalon) was outstanding in flavor and presentation! I saw a lot of people clean their plates, which is always a good sign lol pricy, yes but what waterfront isn't? Worth it in my opinion if you don't mind a splurge on great quality food.

This last Sunday our party of 5 came in. We have gone to this restaurant for over a decade. After being seated we had no silver wear and did not see a server for over 10 minutes. The Calamari was overcooked, and we were shocked to see such a HUGE bill, and after looking at it in detail we noticed the restaurant added an additional service charge of $13.00 roughly with no description of the extra charge. I asked our server who stated it was for extra cleaning they have to do due to Covid. When I told her that does not apply any longer, she said " I don't know then". With the tip our bill was $400.00, and honestly our server did not deserve the tip she received as everything took a long time and tasted average at best. We realize in California the minimum wage has gone up for 7 years straight now but to add on top of the high prices an extra $13.00 with no legitimate reason, is unacceptable, and we felt totally robbed. Unfortunately, we won't return for high prices with average food and a very inattentive server.

The service was great, and the food was pretty good. I did, however, have a few gripes. Take them for what they are worth:1. When making the reservation, I noted twice that we were celebrating a birthday, yet there was no acknowledgement of this by anyone. I wasn't expecting a big to-do, but why ask if it's not going to be acknowledged with a simple "happy birthday" or something along those lines?2. When we mentioned the birthday to our server at the end of our meal, she offered us dessert, but we were still charged for it. I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant for someone's birthday, and at least one dessert wasn't comped.3. They have an additional fee not included in menu prices or tip. This always bothers me. Just increase prices if you need to instead of sneaking in additional fees to cover your costs. I think it was 3-4%.4. The recommended tip amounts were based on the total bill, including tax. You should not be expected to tip on tax, and most respectable restaurants base their recommended tip on total before tax, not after.Overall, not a bad experience, but some simple adjustments by management could really improve things.

The food here is not great we both had different sandwiches and they lacked flavor and were generally bland. The view and setting was adorable view with a nice view of the ocean and beach from the patio area.

Must be a really off nite for them.Had an early dinner on Sat with family. The clam chowder is better described as potato chowder with bits of clams, in a diluted milk sauce. Both fish of the ahi tuna medallions and the fish and chips dishes while not inedible, were not fresh, as these two fish dishes required them to be.The fries were excellent though. The creme brule's texture was more firm custard like, less creme.Overall, edible but not excellent restaurant dishes, substandard quality and execution. The first beer I had was flat and stale, although claimed to be from a new keg. The replacement beer of another variety was better.Service was ok, friendly & helpful. Here's the kicker though: prices were raised, ok, inflation and all. To be expected, but a 4% "operational surcharge" was added to the bill!Either add it to the prices or not, but don't slip it in at the end, sending a message to your Customers that your prices are a bait and switch. Could have missed it, but I did not see any notification of this charge prior to the bill. The suggested tip calculation is based on post tax amount... So the suggestion is that customers help pay the servers' taxes too beyond helping the restaurant to pay it's workers a living wage ? So the next step is, we tip, then add on a gratuity for great service?I would not recommend these dishes specifically or this restaurant the way I experienced it tonight, unfortunately.

Other than the view, the fish in the fish tacos were overcooked, and very rubbery. You figure 2 tacos for $25.50, they would be great, but no, they were less than average. and the black bean side looked and tasted like it was sitting around a few weeks too long

Great food at the cute little town in a cute little restaurant!! Everywhere outdoors is a good view.

Lovely beachside restaurant with delicious tacos (salads, soups, burgers, fish etc). Amazing view of the waters and very unique colorful homes across the water. Food is great, although a little pricey (salad would be a hole of over $30). Goos choixe of margaritas and wines. Overall, it's a decent place to try in Capitola.Parking: Limited number of parking spaces in front of restaurants. They fill up quickly, especially over the weekend.

I decided to try paradise beach grille on a whim. I saw videos of the west coast getting demolished by giant waves and really just wanted to check out the capitola pier since it recently started the repairs from last year's storms. After a nice bike ride in Santa Cruz I felt like trying something new. I usually go to my pizza right next door but decided to splurge on a nice sit down restaurant. I booked a reservation online through open table on their site at 6:30pm for myself & my 3 kiddos. When we arrived the host was a nice young guy who sat us upon request outside because come on you have to since you're right on the water. They have lots of heaters which were super cozy especially for the littles. Our waitress was very attentive and quick as well as the runners. I love some good ol teamwork. I ordered the sugar salmon with potato and veggies, some fried fish and a cocktail (painkiller). Everything was so delish and I really enjoyed my dinner with my kids. Prices are honestly no different in comparison to let's say P.F. Chang's. Nice place to take a date or family out. I'll be back next time with dad or grandma!

Our family loves coming here (and we’re kinda fussy)- we sit in the back over the water to watch the surf, tasty food (fish tacos, crab cakes), and Bridgette is the best waitress ever!
