Maybe I came here on an off day or something. I got a pastor taco, fish taco, and shrimp taco. Nothing was very good and the pastor was tough and overcooked. The fish taco was bland and the shrimp taco had hardly any shrimp in it. One of the tortillas tasted old and the chips were not salted and their salsa was terrible. The staff was really nice but this was an awful spot. There are other much better spots in the area. I probably will not be back.

Why did nobody tell me about this place sooner!? Best kept secret in Santa Cruz! And my new favorite taqueria in town. My only problem is I rarely have cash on me so I’ll have to plan ahead since they are cash only. AMAZING SHRIMP TACOS ?

Our local Capitola Charquiteria De San Marcos holds the utmost standard of freshest prawns, produce & elegant gourmet tortilla's. The brilliant green tortilla is a masterpiece ! ~ these tortilla's appear as large leaves of vibrant green & red lettuce ~ yet they are fresh tortillas stuffed with prawns & fresh produce . The red tortillas are stuffed with brilliant pulled pork, fresh herbs & spices. Enjoy dining right there in their Pretty Patio OR Call in Your order - as this is NOT basic 'fast food'

This place is one of the best in town when they are on their game. Great location and outdoor patio, when the meat is prepared well it is amazing. Fresh corn tortillas and salsas are perfect. I prefer my meat to have as little fat and gristle as possible and mostly that's the case here. Sometimes they run out of the certain meat at the end of the day, so just expect that possibility and also know that it's cash only. It's a small local business with its quirks and that's what makes it so charming.

Homemade tortillas! Corn tortilla Quesadilla was great. Carne Azada (that how they spell it!) was decent. Salsa verde is SPICY!!! Need to try tortas next
The food here is very good. The salsa used to be flavorful with a good deal of heat. However, I have been back a few times and their terrific salsa is not there anymore. In it's place is an orange-red salsa with absolutely no heat, no spice, and very little flavor. Again though, the food is very good.

This place is walking distance from me, so given I love Mexican food, you'd think I'd be there all the time... My last 2 experiences were bad enough that I'll never go back. They always get things wrong, get mad at you for pointing out their mistakes, and they really skimp or leave out toppings/veggies when it's supposed to be included.The woman who took our order forgot that my mom said to go, which I heard her clearly say, then she gave major attitude when asked to put it in to go container. Then they were blatantly rude (I've never seen my nice mom treated SO rudely by staff in all my years) and dismissive to my mom when she tried to thank them for making the change. Like straight up back turned to my mom purposely shunning her while she's saying thank you.Also this is a SHADY cash only business, which is not really a viable way to run a business these days.Anyways, the food is not good enough to be worth the trouble, though some menu items can be tasty. The price is just too much for what you get. I don't recommend, as there are so many other delicious options out there close by without leaving the restaurant feeling like garbage and angry.

A little neighborhood gem. Good food and pleasant staff. The courtyard is small but inviting, and the location in a semi- residential area makes the atmosphere relaxed. For what it is, a pretty basic taqueria, it's well worth it. As noted in other reviews, payment is cash only.
