Service was awesome. I had a problem with my blackened prime rib. It was salty and over spiced. My husband got the exact same order and we switched. His prime rib was just spiced just right. We usually get delicious food here but not this time. They could have done better.

We went for our wedding dinner. We didn't get what we ordered. The waiter was horrible. One plate was brought out correctly and the second plate ended up being brought out 45 minutes later. We waited to eat together so the first plate was cold by the time we were able to eat. When the plate got brought out the lobster was overcooked and rubbery. He Comps our appetizers which were great. We didn't finish our main plates and left them in the table. Overall super disappointed we got married today in the valley and drove to this restaurant based on family reviewed it would be a great first dinner. We felt we were stereo typed and our waiters service was horrible.

Fabulous all the way around. There were four of us and every dish was gorgeous and every bite amazing, from cocktails beforehand through dessert. A unique restaurant filled with lights and nooks and crannies complete with a gondola ride to get in. Highly recommend.

Celebrating 15 years anniversary- asked for a romantic setting. We are loving parents and grandparents but would have loved to have a quiet time but instead they seated us all around big families with children 😔 food is ok for the price. Restaurant and surrounding was good! And a surcharge on the bill? Waiter said they never see any of that surcharge money!

Romantic atmosphere with classic charm. Menu selection very diverse and food was excellent. Bree our server was very attentive.

Fabulous! We had seen some posts and it looked like an idyllic setting but the pictures do not do it justice. Food was phenomenal. Service was great. Overall a great dining experience.

Shadowbrook continues to be a gem. The whole experience is a delight; the location, the view, the tram, a balanced menu and friendly service. The artichoke soup was delicious, we enjoyed the seared ahi's dipping sauces, you cant go wrong with the prime rib and the special of wagyu NY steak was really yummy. But the dessert menu is too standard, it would be nice to see something a bit more exiting. And don't miss the weekly wine bottle specials, we had a Maggio Petit Sirah, what a find!

My husband's filet was a VERY thin slice of meat which was served raw (not medium as ordered) and when given back to cook more was returned well-done Additionally, a woman became VERY irate and began yelling which was very uncomfortable - our understanding was she was “cut off” and was upset about it

A local institution for special occasions for the last three quarters of a century, Shadowbrook consistently delivers. It's especially gorgeous during the holiday season, with every room warm and festive. The hosts were so cheerful and friendly - especially Gabrielle! Our server Andrew was also top notch - authentically welcoming and very knowledgeable - steered us in a couple of unexpected directions that were DELICIOUS. This restaurant doesn't need more positive reviews but I'm happy to add my accolades to the mix. If you haven't been in awhile, go visit!

The server we had was very unprofessional as well as the manager. The manager was the worst. He only came by when there was an issue to make up some excuse that was not true because he never came by to even check on us the entire time. The issue was they cut my friend off on her bday after only having two drinks with her dinner in a two hour period. I worked in the industry and know that is not ok. 1 drink per hour with lots of food is absolutely acceptable. She was completely fine. Not showing any signs of intoxication. The whole situation was uncalled for and the waitress was unprofessional saying it was her second day and she didn't want to serve her. Didn't make any sense. That's not a reason to cut someone off They do not care about the customers. We spent $400 at this restaurant to be treated so horribly. If anything goes wrong while you're there dont expect to be treated with any kindness or compensation. If you go for a bday they don't celebrate you or make you feel special. They don't have a free bday dessert if you are someone that likes to have one on their special day. We went for my friend's 40th bday and had the worst experience ever.

Ambience and food are great. Cocktail experience was poor with lots of bartending 101 errors. It’s a shame when restaurants focus all their attention on the food and yet a poor cocktail experience can ruin the whole night. Every drink we ordered was poor.

I adore this restaurant! I have been coming for decades, just for drinks in recent years. Last week we went for my birthday dinner. The dining rooms are enchanting, the service excellent, and food delicious. Shadowbrook is a Capitola gem.

This place is a must for a Capitola visit. So unique! The food and service were top notch! The ride in the funicular was so cool!

This restaurant is AMAZING! Hands down the best food I have ever gotten. The steak was cooked to perfection and you can tell the meat was not a cheap piece. I highly recommend! The only part that was disappointing was the cable car was not working however they called to let us know that ahead of time. The ambience here is 10/10!
