I purchased a scoop of black cherry ice cream in a waffle cone. Half way into the scoop I encountered an long hair. Had to throw the rest of the cone away due to being disgusted by the situation. I also observed the servers with long hair not pulled back leaning over the ice cream to scoop everyone’s treat. Will it go back!

They say there a atm inside but there's not. Totally lied to me. They lack at costumer service and completely ignore their customers. They ice cream probably taste as bad as their service.

What's not to like? It's basic ice cream shop ice cream, which means it's better than (most of) the grocery store stuff. They offer the usual -- ice cream in 15 flavors, ice cream in a bowl, ice cream in a cone (waffle or otherwise). But it's not like this is a must-go location. If you're in the area and fancy a treat of ice cream, feel free to drop in; there aren't any other noticeable ice cream shops in the immediate area.

Fairly disappointing place. It isn't particularly clean, and the employees don't use gloves. The ice cream is expensive and is Dreyer's; it's better to buy a quart at the store and make your own cone. It's cash only, but there is an ATM inside. The island berry smoothie is good; however, they water it down with tap water if it's too little.

I've been going here since before I can remember. Only now as an adult have I noticed that the man who is probably the owner is unceasingly kind and humourous and engaging, even to kids just learning to order and pay on their own, which is kind of a big deal. Every time. All day long. Since I was a kid, and now for my kid. And let's not forget the waffle cones are kind of amazing.

Stopped by for an afternoon sweet treat with the gang. Plenty of flavors to choose from and can come in as many scoops as your heart desires -- one scoop, two scoops, just keep piling them on! Different cone options and toppings are available as add ons. Cash only so if you're low on the greens, there is an ATM inside the store. Staff were friendly. Support local y'all!

We had a bad experience here too. Now, reading from the reviews about the owner, I understand it was her and not us. We bought ice cream and my husband even gave a good tip. We ate the ice cream outside and my daughter spilled her ice cream on her and my husband's foot, so my husband went in to get enough napkins to clean him and my daughter up. The shop owner complained to him that he was being wasteful. He felt really upset about that and it ruined the rest of our day. On top of that, it wasn't even that good. Next time, we will go to a better-managed store with good customer service. I think the only reason this place is still in business is due to the tourists who don't know about the cranky owner.

2 weeks ago my boyfriend, my daughter and I decided to stop in for a sweet treat. I'm honestly surprised that the star ratings are this low, the staff were very kind and welcoming, offered free samples to us, as well as suggestions on what to order! They even called it even when I was short on cash, please plan accordingly or use the ATM since they do not accept cards! I ordered the Huckleberry Heaven in Handmade Waffle Cone with Strawberries, Whip, Nuts & Cherry. First can we talk about their waffle cones!? The smell alone brought us in as we watched them make these fresh drool-worthy cones through their store window! I love huckleberry ice cream so I was excited to try this and this sundae was no exception! The sweet fresh sliced strawberries, nice creamy whip and classic chopped nuts paired nicely in the flavorful waffle cone as well! I would definitely recommend this small local ice cream shop, located in Capitola Village! Ice cream on the beach anyone!? Please bump up the stars and support this small local business! We will definitely be returning to try more of their flavors, as well as spreading the word about this amazing little shop!

I live in Capitola and always like to support local businesses but will not be going back to this place. Walked in to get an ice cream and there was a woman with her 3 or 4 kids in there ordering with no one behind them. So, to get a better view of the selection I went over to the left of the counter. Out of no where an older woman (from reading the other reviews I see she is the owner) came up to me. I am not sure if she asked me if I wanted to order but what I do remember is she then rudely said to me- oh I see you cut in line to get in the front? I first I thought she was joking but could quickly see she was serious . Confused I said, uh no, I am just trying to get a better view and also, there is no line. At that point, I would expect her to self correct or at least to become neutral- she did neither- Her vibe was so bad that I should have walked out but you know how compelling ice cream is so I ordered, stayed polite, paid for my two tiny scoops of mediocre ice cream in a cone and knew I would never go back.

The owner is very nice, and the fresh made cone was a real delight. The Ice cream was good and a generous amount. I find it sad that reviewers write bad reviews because the establishment only takes cash. Please remember this is a small business, not Amazon!!
