Alejandra's Fine Mexican Food And Cantina - Carlsbad, CA

We were out on the patio with live music so we wanted noise. That part was great. The service was excellent. The food was good, but not great. Needs a little more seasoning to it. Just a tad bland.

We made a reservation to sit on the patio and see some live music. The bartender Bryce was welcoming and can really mix it up. The food was great and we really loved the band, The Smokin Guns. We danced with people we didn't know and it felt like a party! This was our second time at Alejandra's for their music events.

A neighborhood restaurant that it seems a lot of people don't know about. The outdoor patio area is very nice atmosphere when there is live music. The inside is very nice if the weather is not permitting. Food and decor are great. Service has always been great. There is plenty of evening parking as the day businesses close for the day.

This was such a disappointment. We went over a year ago and had a good experience. It used to have a more upscale menu, now it's like every other Mexican restaurant. Not sure what has happened since. While the staff was very nice, the service was atrocious. One of the worst I've experienced in a long time. The place was pretty empty (6:30 on a Saturday night - should have been a heads up!) we sat down and waited at least 10 minutes for anyone to come over. A good restaurant makes sure someone immediately comes over for a drink order. So we flagged someone down and ordered our drinks (there was only 2 of us) and a Mexican corn appititizer. We waited and waited. Another 10 minutes. We flagged someone down - found out our drinks hadn't even been made. Another 7 or so minutes the waitress rings the drinks (they were good I must say) . We asked where the corn was. She forgot to order it !!! She says it's quick, less than 5 minutes. Almost 10 more minutes till it came out. It was not good. Clearly canned corn with cheese melted in. Both times that she came by (drinks,corn) the chip bowl and salsa were empty - never asked or offered a refill. We had to ask. Finally our meals came out (and new chips but no salsa!) - both fajitas. Get this, they put the little metal cup of sour cream and guacamole right on the hot fajita plate. They were hot!! Hot sour cream, hot guacamole. Seriously??? We asked for new ones. The rice and beans were in one bowl and the beans were definitely canned black refried beans - totally dried out like it was old. We both asked for flour tortillas- we got flour for one and corn for one ! The food was completely tasteless. I don't think I've ever left so much food over , not to mention not take my leftovers. We didn't even attempt a desert. Would probably require an overnight stay. Sadly, we will not be going back.

Our server Lancealot gave my family and I outstanding service! Very knowledgeable, helpful and super friendly, eager to assist with a smile on his face! The food came out quickly and was delicious. The ambiance was wonderful and beautiful inside. We will definitely be coming back!

Food was good but salsa tasted garlicky to me. The music was Mexican techno and was overwhelming.

Great customer service. Josh was a great waiter. I ordered the carne asada and pollo street tacos. They were delicious.

Nice place . I like the atmosphere and the Saturday salsa night . I will back again on Saturday. 😍

Fantastic value for the ambience and food and service. Delicious Mexican entrées not slopped on a plate like many other Mexican restaurants. Amazing chips and salsa, good margarita selection, delicious Mexican entrées served elegantly.

Happy Hour food prices were ok, but maybe not for the quality. Drinks were pretty pricey

Celebrated a birthday dinner for a party of 6 - called on route to the restaurant they were able to accomodate our party quickly and even had the table ready for us when we arrived . First impressions were what a beautiful place -we arrived at night and loved the fireplace outside and lovely Christmas decorations inside . We ordered a good selection of drinks and food- would recommend the Margarita flight ! Was not disappointed in anything the service was also impeccable we had a nice private section do the restaurant and our server was very attentive and quick with anything that we asked for . Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back . Note: because it was a birthday dinner they brought delicious churros a la mode with a candle which was delicious !
