Alejandra's Fine Mexican Food And Cantina - Carlsbad, CA

Went on an early Saturday evening for a dinner date with my girlfriend.The happy hour was still going, so we ordered the Chile relleno tacos & a margarita , both were very tasty. The fajitas were big enough to share & the flavor was outstanding. Props to our waiter for the great service & I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Carlsbad.

Pretty bad service. We arrived at our table and ordered drinks and appetizers. Appetizers came but no plates or silverware. Had to wait 5 minutes until the server finally brought. Drinks took 15 minutes. Felt bad for the couple next to us. They patiently waited an hour for their meal. We were paying our bill as they got their food, and we were there before them. We'll never go back.

Bad experience overall - food was poor, service was poor, took 45 minutes to get food, 20 minutes to get drinks. At 40 minutes after we ordered, I asked our server when our food would come out, he said talk to the manager and pointed to her. she ignored me and another server noticed and asked what we ordered. a few minutes, he brought our food.

Nice restaurant, good food. Love the patio with live music every weekend. April is an awesome server but seems to handle the patio by herself and it's usually packed. They could use more help out there so customers don't have to fight their way to the bar for a drink. We are going to check out Happy Hour and Taco Tuesday to see if service is better on non-weekend days.

The band was amazing and that is why we went. Our waitress was not having a good night. But she was very funny and entertaining. There should've been three at least...she was alone. The management was very kind and welcoming. There was one gentleman there and I have no idea what he was supposed to be doing, but he didn't pick up one dish And our dirty dishes sat on our table for over a half an hour. Other people took their dishes and put them on the bar. Our experience had nothing to do with the fault of the people working there at the time, but it does fall on the management and clearly not having the staff to accommodate the amount of people.

The tacos by the way are street tacos, quite small. I had the pork tacos I prefer the red sauce to the green sauce that came with them. Husband at the chicken enchiladas rice beans it comes with 2 enchiladas so he just had one packed up to go. The $6 happy hour Margarita was quite small. And if you don't get a margarita it's quite expensive.

Very nice place, not too busy, food was very good. Waitress was very accommodating when we wanted to tweak our order, I highly recommend.

We sampled the tacos on the Patio. We were there at 5:00 and it was very quiet. A band starting setting up to start playing at 6:30 and it started filling up. We enjoyed the food, ambiance and great service.

The food was good but the steak was extremely small.... the music wasn't appropriate and the lighting was too bright for the type of restaurant it is. Good location.

We keep coming back for the chicken and rice soup, the asada tacos and our favorite bartender Ruben. He never fails to treat us like family, regardless if it’s a slower Wednesday night or a jamming Friday night. He makes quality tasteful drinks and always keeps us laughing. Highly recommend for a date night, girls night out or happy hour.

We were out on the patio with live music so we wanted noise. That part was great. The service was excellent. The food was good, but not great. Needs a little more seasoning to it. Just a tad bland.

I want to love this place. The decor is really lovely, the live music is great (a bigger dance floor would be nice). Unfortunately, the 2 times I've been there in the past month, the service has been very bad--slow as can be, inattentive, incorrect orders. I don't think I can convince my friends to go back until they figure that part out. C'mon, Alejandra's! You can do it! Get some more help because everything else is great.

Such a fun spot! The food was amazing, drinks were so good (thank you Ruben!!), and the service from Lance was top notch. Chill vibes, great energy, and definitely a new favorite. Can’t wait to come back!

This place was amazing, I highly highly recommend it!! Ruben was our bartender and Eddy was our server and we had the best service and food. We will definitely be back!!!!!!
