Cherry Blossom Burmese Cafe & Sushi is a hidden gem and a wonderful find off Palomar Road near the airport. It’s a small, simple place, but very cozy and pleasant with a fun and cute atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming, ready for groups with smiles and hospitality.
The food is cheap but really tasty and incredibly fresh and flavorful. Everything was outstandingly delicious. Menu highlights include the Coconut Soup, Garlic Street Noodles, Poke, Lumpia, chicken & potato curry with paratha, and the golden coconut khao soi. The paratha is similar to naan but less puffy and more chewy, and the curry is more of a chicken curry potato stew. The khao soi is noodles in flavorful coconut soup, reminiscent of Singaporean laksa. Guests can also try the Burmese tea, which is similar to Thai tea but with a more complex flavor. All vegetarian options are available, with proteins added for meat eaters. The owner explains how the Burmese food is influenced by China, India, and Thailand. Nothing fancy, just a very nice little spot with good food and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
