Paul the manager was our waiter and did an outstanding job! Food and service was excellent!
We had the hanger steak and salmon, both of which were very good. We go here about once a month and the food is consistent. Service was very good also. Look at the museum before or after you eat. There is no charge.
We have enjoyed casual dining here...tonight shared a Caesar salad(1/2 size was plenty) which was delicious. Croutons seem to melt in your mouth. Supreme pizza had a great crust and an abundance of meats, peppers and cheese... We have always enjoyed eating here! Donovan D was our server. He was great. Thank you.
The food fare selection is typical for a bar/tavern with a few seafood extras. Donovan was very friendly and was willing to share his recommendations when asked. The rest of the staff was friendly as well. I recommend you carve out some additional time to spend in the museum which has some interesting artifacts from the country's history!
I love that the new chef offers specials on a little paper menu most weeks. The standard menu is solid, but for regulars, it's really nice to have something different. Chef knocked it out of the park for Easter- both the ham and the lobster tail was out of this world!!
We went to Green Dragon on Easter. Everything was excellent. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We ordered the Easter Ham special dish and all of the items tasted so fresh and home made. We also had the wedge salad and pretzel bites from the regular menu and both were tasty. Our friend had the beef bourguingnon which we tasted and it was delicious too. I highly recommend the Green Dragon. The selection of food is diverse and tempting. We have been there a few times and all that we ordered was excellent!
The main course did not arrive together. Some members of our party were served their entrees ten minutes or more before others. The restaurant was very noisy and the staff seemed overwhelmed, though they were very nice The food was good, especially the ham special.
Very nice place. We've now been there twice. Fast service. Great food. Prices are pretty dang good for Carlsbad. And very unique with the history museum.

Very average food and ambiance. Interesting museum.
I had no idea this restaurant existed in Carlsbad and it was really great. It has a small Historical Museum focused on Boston that was fun to walk through. The best for me was they had gluten-free items on their menu,
I had Shepherd's Pie which is normally off limits for me because of the gravy but theirs is gluten free and delicious.
Had fun in this New England themed restaurant. The portions were hearty. The Turkey pot pie was well seasoned and a tiny bit peppery. The parmesan fries were perfect. I also really enjoyed the soup of the day. Check it out and also look over their fun exhibits.
I go here occasionally for a good meal, usually lunch. I've always been fully satisfied with their options, the presentation, and their prices are very reasonable, for what you get. So, when I was invited to their Thanksgiving feast, I was eager to attend.
Unfortunately, this is where it all went south. Yes, there's a plentiful buffet, with several choices, but I found it awkward to serve one's self in the limited space, with so many others, all trying for the same. The appetizers were very good, thankfully, because the turkey was pretty bad. No flavor at all, and somewhat rubbery. The deserts were store bought.
The price for this "feast" was $85, plus the price of a drink.
Some may like it, but I could have fed 4 people for $85, and I bet it would taste a little better! Very disappointing.
Went for the food and was happy with the experience. As transplants from the east coast, we appreciated the ambiance and feel of New England. A few options for vegetarians including basil tomato soup and avocado tempura tacos. Both items were delicious!! We also ordered fried cauliflower and while tasty, they were so drenched in oil I could not eat them. Would recommend and will definitely be back.
