Quality food, great flavor. You pay for it but it won't stop me from coming back, OFTEN.
Vegetarian options: Please get the Fried Avocado Taco. It's amazing! Mexican slaw was very good too.
Dietary restrictions: A lot of gluten free options.
LOVED it! Took some clients the other day. I'm a fan of their other restaurants, especially Black Rail and Tin Leaf, and I live very close by. They are known for high quality ingredients. The taco combo plates delivered. I had the chicken mole and carnitas with side of mexican slaw and rice. Will definitely be back to try others....everything smells and looks great!
Extremely spicy, I was not even able to eat the slaw nor beans. Staff mentioned it was not spicy, otherwise I would not have ordered. The barbacoa taco was not spicy and it tasted good.
Amazing food and service. Best sit down Mexican ever. Usually drive through is better then sit down but not in this case. The empanadas were seasoned perfectly, moist and crispy. The tacos were also perfect, generous! And don't write off the sides, they are good as a meal. So happy to haveThis restaurant added to the neighborhood!
Amazing food, great service and strong drinks! What more can you ask for? Give the fried Avocado Tacos and the Mexican Slaw a try, they were fantastic!
Second time at this place and I had the Blackened Mahi Fish Tacos. They were outstanding! The atmosphere is very pleasant with a nice airy indoor/outdoor flow. Service is great as well.
Staff is great. Food is wayyyy overpriced. If you would like to spend 20 dollars for two little tacos this is the place for you.
Carne asada tacos are the best i have ever eaten! A little pricy but worth it, we all deserve nice things! Super nice staff as well!
It’s Premier Week at Henry’s Take! We were honored to be invited to the premier of “La Cocina Mesa,” the latest addition to the Fresh Kitchen Hospitality group of restaurants. Now for purposes of absolute clarity, when we say “invited” perhaps the more accurate description is that the front door was open and the general public was “invited” to enter, and when we say “premier” perhaps the more accurate description is that their launch was about a week ago. Having said all of that, the food was good and the ambiance was welcoming. Finding a table at the “premier” was a little challenging, but bodes well for their long-term outlook. For us the greater question remains…will we receive an invitation to the actual premier of the next @freshkitchenhospitality expansion? And that’s…Henry’s Take. @henrystake
Overpriced.Under-delivers.If I wanted to get scammed I’d invest in a Nigerian prince.

The best thing about this restaurant is the employees. The food is ridiculously overpriced. The fish tacos were small, dry and expensive. For the same price I could be eating surf and turf with a view. No thanks.
This new restaurant does not live up to its hype. The food is bland and the portions are very small. It does have a nice setting and the workers are sincere. It’s also expensive. The owners would do well to revisit their menu, prices, and portions. We’ve tried it twice and the results are the same. Oh well. I was looking forward to a good Mexican inspired restaurant. I’ll keep looking.
Went first time for lunch. Very friendly, hard working staff and great food. Will visit again.
The day of the La Codina Mesa grand opening, my wife and I came in for lunch. Of course healthy eating and organic ingredients are fabulous at this restaurant, and the same came be said for the Tin Leaf they also own, HOWEVER, pricing is ridiculous!THIS>>La Covina Mesa charges >>$9 for a 4 inch taco (!) and IS the most expensive taco in North County!A 4 inch taco! With a small piece of mahi mahi! So, for a salad with blackened mahi mahi on it, and ONE 4 inch taco, the cost was over $30! And if I had ordered two tacos that were not filling, the cost would have been over $40! For two tacos and a salad with fish on it!So, WHY would we go back? For the organic food? Certainly not for the cost. For the same price we can go to Casa de Bandini, get two full meals and take home food.To be clear, I have an issue with restaurants that overcharge customers, using the defense of healthy eating….and then offer small portions….which for us, is dripping with restaurant arrogance. If La Covina Mesa price point for a small takeout restaurant with no environment is $40 for two, then why would we go back? We won’t. They are not the only game in town.
The food is really fresh with clean ingredients. The staff is friendly and service oriented. We will definitely return.
