A great variety of foods to pick from, Mexican, pizza/pasta, pho, bbq, etc. There are plenty of options for the family or a group of friends with different taste preferences. You can sit outside, or inside (there are 3 primary eating areas; in front with tables/benches, near arcades and walkways with mostly smaller 2-3 person cocktail tables and then a cool library area with regular tables and sofas)Despite the seating options, it was a Saturday afternoon at lunchtime so catching a spot took patience.Nearly all the places you do your order and they give you a buzzer to let you know when to return and pick it up.Was also told that sometimes there are a couple unique places that take up temporary residence—this time is was a cool mini donut shop and fried chicken place.Pricing is what you’d expect, from $8-$12 a meal. Our family tried the pizza and wok place: they were good but not great. Worth checking out when everyone is craving something different and you wanna meet in the middle.

We’ve been here a few times. The first time was when here just opened not long during pandemic, there were only several food options. My favorite was Cross Street Chicken sandwich, while it’s still one of my favorites. I also loved the Secret Sauce Chinese food. The Pad Thai is nice too! I remember the BBQ place is not very impressive. And the watermelon salad was bland…. But it’s a so fun place to visit, especially if you have kids.

Great place to visit if you have a family or crew that want different things to eat. This place has different areas you can get food from like BBQ, pizza, chicken strips, Mexican food, sushi, Thai and more, even a very yummy dessert stand.I got garlic parmesan chicken tenders with tater tots and my husband got the lemon pepper chicken tenders with fries. Everything was crispy and yummy. There is inside seating and outside it is a get your food and seat yourself kind of place.

Great place to eat for large groups. Plenty of seating for everyone with a ton of food options. It is nice that everyone can pick what to eat or drink.Vegetarian options: There were many vegetarian options at most restaurants.

We got Thai food, Mexican food, pizza, and boba! Everything was awesome! Super diverse cuisines! The pizza was great, super thin and flavorful. The ceviche was great and so were the fish tacos. The pad Thai and pineapple fried rice were all good too. The boba was my favorite, not to sweet, but really good! Overall 5/5 stars! And I'll visit again when I'm in Carlsbad!

Cool place to go when you want to try or have more than one type of food. Was not to busy and everyone seemed nice. Food was good and was so hungry forgot to take a picture of the food.Kid-friendliness: The kids were each able to get something and there was games for them to play.

I enjoyed myself checking out the different eateries. There is definitely a mix of cuisines and a full bar. They have outdoor seating and plenty of indoor space.I did expect there to be a bit more places to choose from other than the dozen or so current eateries.Plenty of parking, easy access to the freeway

We pulled up with a group of 7 - each of which had their own unique food tastes - and we all left happy and full. Sushi Burritos, Tacos, Pizza, Quesadillas, anything your hungry heart desires. The only downside was that they don't offer fountain drinks, which should honestly be a staple of any great food establishment. All in all, it was a fun time!

Windmill Food Hall has 14 creative, independent fast serve restaurants to choose from with a big, attractive bar serving alcoholic drinks, and gourmet coffee shop. Once a big Van de Kamp restaurant, it has been completely remodeled into a fun, contemporary, casual dining mall for kids and people of all ages. Spaces within have been styled into zones with different atmospheres. Indoor and outdoor tables and picnic benches are available for dining in. Most restaurants have carry out as well. ... A great place with something to please almost anyone!

Sadly a victim on Covid restaurant deaths. Other locations luckily still open. Try encinitas or Coronado locations. Lobster bisque is the bomb!

Very convenient location right off the freeway inside the Windmill Food Hall. Service was good and my wife and I ordered our typical to go items. We ordered the lobster roll "boss" which provided 50% more lobster meat and a bowl of clam chowder. Similar to the Encinitas and Coronado location, we love their lobster roll. The clam chowder tasted great but my one slight complaint was it was only lukewarm which was somewhat of a letdown on a cold day when I was looking forward to eating something piping hot. Also, the oyster crackers at this location were different from the other 2 locations which I have more of a preference for. Nonetheless, still love Lobster West and hoping they will open one up more centrally located in San Diego.

Back to back nights here. I had to return after reading a recent Tripadvisor review - just to try a monster chicken sandwich from Cross Street Chicken. Which lived up to its billing. The bar here has a good selection of craft ales, as well as the usual standard brews. Its “Latitude IPA” is an orange infused ale that is quite punchy - around 7% abv - and it is absolute first class. This whole place feels covid safe inside and outside. Outdoor heaters make winter al fresco drinking a complete joy. (Something thats been missing in my life in lockdown Britain for many months). So thats two nights coming here. I’ll probably do a third tomorrow.

Lobster Roll: Overall I'd give it 8/10. The lobster tasted fresh, the buttered toasted bun was awesome! I liked the old bay seasoning on top. I personally would have preferred warm lobster, not cold - however, I would certainly go here again. They had 3 types of rolls, 3 different soups, and a few other items. I tried the clam chowder - good, but not great, a little too thin for me. I also tried the lobster bisque, which again it was good, but a bit too much sherry. In all, it was a great spot and time. It's part of a 'food hall' so there where other places to order from, as well ( Thai, poke, Mediterranean, etc.) We ended with a Nutella Calzone .

My ABSOLUTE GO TO spot for fresh lobster rolls! Lobster West has 3 locations - Coronado, Carlsbad, and Encinitas. Make sure you opt for the BOSS roll. This sandwich comes STUFFED with Steamed Maine Lobster: Claw and knuckle meat; sourced and traced from the icy waters off the rugged Maine coastline. The "Boss" roll runs for $22 each (classic $16). It is a little pricey but SO worth it. Thank you Lobster West!!

01.01.2021 We came here to check out the new food hall and get some yummy eats for NY Day dinner. Dueling Claws - 1 junior lobster roll + 1 junior crab roll. The perfect amount of food to have some lobster and taste the crab. Still loving the lobster the best! Shrimp rolls - H and Little O had one each and inhaled them. No chance of getting a taste. Clam chowder - The girls shared a bowl and I was able to get a few spoonfuls in before Little O asked for it back. It was just as good at this location as the Encinitas location. Nice and creamy with lots of chunks of potatoes and clams. Even H liked it a lot. She prefers her Monterey Bay clam chowder over any other. Crab cake - Shared this with the hubby. Ate it after our sandwiches so it was a bit cold and not as hot. It was good but not as good as the one from the other location. "BOSS" Lobster Roll - with twice the meat. Hubby said it was good but he would still be okay with the classic. All his lobster pieces kept falling out and he was making a big mess. LOL!
