Coffee was ok. It's evenly priced with similar coffee shops in Carlsbad. 2 stars because the service was slowwwww and the coffee was mid. The clientele also seemed pretentious imo. I'd skip this coffee shop and go to vinaka or Revolution roasters down the street.

Wow, this place is popular. Sorry folks, I just don't get it. The coffee was fine, really spicy latte was enjoyable. The breakfast was sad, two poached eggs, a very sad sausage patty, and some tomato slices for like $15 - 20. Much better breakfast to be had in the area for that price. I always feel compelled to tip table service prices, but that's a tough sell when really it's counter service and an expensive couple of eggs. Very hip ambiance, if you're into that sort of thing. Can't endorse this one.

Fantastic neighborhood Coffee spot where everything from food to hot coffee to lattes to cold brew to anything here is awesome. If I were to pick out anything as my go-to, I would say the Turkish coffee with oat milk is to die for. Dog friendly location (water bowls are present!) here with free Wi-Fi. Great staff always offering suggestions and listening to your tastes. Love the outdoor open air atmosphere with plenty of bar space, tables, and meeting room here both on the patio and sidewalk adjacent. If I had one gripe about being here it might be the chairs. Being a bigger guy, these were pretty uncomfortable to sit in. Obviously the furniture has to weather being outside here at lofty and there's always the potential for furniture being stolen... So I understand the choices here with no padding and hard poly material But being a bigger guy and really having to squeeze my thighs into these was really not pleasant being here for a couple hours. With that, if I could make a suggestion to Lofty it's to purchase chairs without arm rests... Maybe even just a quarter or half your chair selection so there are options! Thank you for the great coffee and looking forward to coming back here again and again!

Quality coffee. I am a hard critic on coffee, so when you make me a latte that doesn't need sugar and has a cute foam design, I won't mind if the saucer is chipped. I ordered at the counter and they brought it to my table with a smile in no time at all! Hardest part was finding free parking, but I snagged a spot just a bit down the block.

Been coming here 3-4 times a week for the last few months since I moved to Carlsbad. The flat white is the best in town, the shop and tables are always clean, and the staff are always super nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Such a great location. It is located up on hill with views of below. Great pastries to choice from. We order items for "here" and drinks were brought to our table to glass cups/ ceramic mugs. I ordered the Aztec mocha and was warned that is was spicy, it definitely has a kick and was a unique drink.

The most elite coffee chain in San Diego. Many others are great, but I always come back to Lofty. The Carlsbad location is the newest, and I love the outdoor large seating area. I should invest in Lofty since I've been funding them for years and years lol. My forever fave.
Loved our Aztec Mocha. Loved our macha doughnut. On this early winter morning, Lofty provides overhead heating for the outdoor seating. So you can sit comfortably outside on a cold morning.Will come back.

Amazing specialty coffee shop with a great atmosphere. The barista that helped me was very friendly and recommended the Turkish Coffee with the Ethiopia Sidama single-origin espresso ($1.5 up-charge). The coffee was BOMB! Spiced, slightly sweet and smooth; Truly an exceptional cup of coffee. It's also very cool how many offerings of coffee equipment and environmentally friendlier coffee beans they offered. Very cool stop if you're in Carlsbad and have an extra few dollars for a specialty drink :)

The baristas answered my questions and gave me awesome recommendations. What a beautiful area it's located in as well. I will definitely come back for the pleasant relaxing experience i had.
