This bar was really fun. Robert bartender helped us out and took care of us. If you're not in your twenties I would suggest going early it gets pretty crowded.

soo i came here based on a recommendation that this place was probably one of the most lit places in Carlsbad. it really did meet expectations. the bartenders were super welcoming and on top of it. Britney was the coolest most real & down to earth bartender i've come across. she really handled herself well during the business times, but also was super consistent. i be praying for servers like her when i go to busy places like this, so i really really appreciate her service and hospitality! also she makes drinks pretty bomb!

Went to the bar with friends and went to the DJ to request creed. His name was DJ Mike and he told me no one wants to hear that music. When I asked him again he waived to the bouncers to get me kicked out. Another person Asked for him to play creed and he got physical with them before getting them kicked

I was in the area for my Son's Marine Boot Camp graduation. Hung out at the Alley all four nights I was staying nearby. (@Beach Terrace, amazing place too!). I had a blast getting to know the staff and some of the patrons. Normally I would expect to be annoyed around that many people so young, but everyone was polite and having a great time. I highly recommend anyone in Carlsbad pops into the Alley for a few cold ones, it will not disappoint! Bonus, the gal bartenders are hot!

Went to this place literally once, I don't even live in the area and I'm not the type to usually go to this type of place but my friends just saw it and thought it might be fun. Boy was I wrong. I don't know what kind of CREEPY things the bar staff was trying to do, but me and my friends are all very well over 21. He tried to separate us, let me and my other female friend in and ISOLATED my other female friend, interrogating her and almost made her cry- OVER A VERY REAL ID! He threatened to take it while blowing cigarette smoke in her face. We all just left after that and will never be back. If your a female do not go here! The cigarette smoking wizard out front will try to harass and isolate your friends!

Terrible place to go, even as a tourist I recommend other places there better bars then this especially with the staffing. The staffing at the alley are jokes they got no clue what is going on and this guy country I'd me when I gave his my id so he can check it he kept it and said I was trying to use another persons, the only thing me and our friends wanted was just to look for a pleasant evening and instead we got this, I left in a hurry and had the best time after that but they alley and there staff was what ruined my night

I love the alley it's always my go to spot when I want to have a good time with friends and meet new people, even on a weekday people still have plenty of fun, bartenders are super friendly and work fast and drinks are affordable if you are planning on staying and having a fun long night.

Only been here a couple times, once before covid. Thrice ‘after’ the fact. On busy nights, very compact for how busy they get, tend to only have 3 bartenders at best with some bar backs which doesn’t seem like enough, given its busy expect to wait about 5 mins for a new drink, if it’s not busy. It’s almost instantaneous. Beyond that, definitely a fun place.
