This was a normal Tommy V experience We have been many times and the disappointments can be counted on two or three fingers. Manny always provides excellent and personal service, pizza crispy and delicious, and the Milanese tender. Lunch or dinner, both are special.
Great night Food was fantastic Packed house and server kept up well. Nice music....enjoyable
This was my second visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, it didn't improve much from the first time. After a disappointing first experience where the waiter completely forgot about us and we had to keep getting up to ask for water, utensils, and other basics, I contacted management and was offered a gift card. I hoped this would lead to a better experience, but sadly, that wasn't the case. Once again, the service was lacking. Our waiter spent more time eating and chatting with his family at the bar than attending to us. My glass was empty for a while, I needed more bread, and we had to wait to place our order. It's frustrating when service is this inattentive, especially when you're paying premium prices. The atmosphere is loud and more suited for a casual, family-style meal rather than a romantic evening. If you're looking for a quieter, more intimate setting, this definitely isn't the place. As for the food, the prices are outrageous for what you get. $30 for 4 lobster ravioli, $21 for a small appetizer (4 pieces of bread with brie, apples, and honey)—it's just not worth it. My chicken pasta had chunks of dark, fatty chicken that tasted like it came from a local Chinese restaurant—not what I expected at all. I was hoping for tender white chicken breast, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Overall, I think this will be my last visit. Given the high prices and lackluster service and food, it's just not worth it.
Always an excellent experience dining at Tommy V's. We love the service, the ambiance, the food, and look forward to returning again soon!
I recently celebrated a birthday dinner at Tommy V’s Urban Kitchen & Bar in Carlsbad, and the experience was exceptional. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The menu offered a delightful array of Italian and American dishes, each prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
What truly distinguished the evening was the outstanding service provided by Manny. His attentiveness and genuine hospitality ensured that every aspect of our celebration was flawless. Manny’s recommendations were spot-on, and his friendly demeanor added a personal touch that made the night unforgettable.
I highly recommend Tommy V’s for any special occasion or casual dining. The combination of delectable cuisine, inviting atmosphere, and exceptional service, exemplified by Manny, guarantees a memorable night.

It was decent food but absolutely horrible service. We got our desert and had no silverware to eat it with. Then waited 30 minutes to receive our check.

We've been before and it's been amazing. New Year's Eve a lot of attention to detail was missing. They used their “busyness” as an excuse. Standard table booking meant any table available... even if it was a bar height table in the middle of what looked like a large bar group hovering around the bar even if there was not enough chairs. Waiters had to lean over our table to get past. We were finally moved, but not provided menus. After 20 mins the server came by to ask if we wanted a drink, so we says sure... what do you have? A menu was brought. Another 20 minutes and we could order. The place was way too full.. ambiance with a small three person music was awkward as you couldn't give them the attention they deserved based on noise level. Food was eh... nothing special for New Years. Servers were more concerned with the tiaras they were wearing than making the evening enjoyable. In the end our requests were accommodated but isn't that the point of an online reservation. Oddly they said they couldn't see the standard table request on their side... the system was not working.. but they checked us in ok. It was unfortunate we were really looking forward to it. Maybe next time ..
Lively not too crazy atmosphere on NYE for a chill dinner but the food was just average. I had scallops that had a not very good sauce- I scraped it off . Hubby had spaghetti bolognese that he also did not love. Not a lot of seafood on the menu. I didn't want pizza, pasta or a burger. Maybe those are better. It is one of the nicer restaurants in Bressi and the service was good.
Great drinks and service. I had the chicken Marsala and it was really bad. The chicken was very rubbery. Our appetizer of flatbread was delicious though…

The Chicken Avocado sandwich was average. Chicken tended to be on the overdone side. The wines available by the glass were very limited. I would have given five stars for the service, if the waitstaff had checked my reservation mentioning our lunch was a birthday celebration. Overall, disappointing.

We set for 35 minutes without a server , no welcome no approach to the table. A busboy filled water, never came back! Our birthday girl had to get up , look for a manager, who for the rest of our stay, served us! Our waiter, told us oh employees come in late because of the time difference! And had a few very unprofessional replies! Like when a 86 year old repeated himself, he was told “ you told me this already” we noticed , that he is very cozy with the regulars! Lots of talking and hand shaking! Not expected in your beautiful restaurant , which we have visit many times before! This waiter, should not be in that profession, it doesn’t help your business! Ps. I been a director of restaurants for 30 years! I always now , what craziness can occur in the back of the house! Never, ever should it be told to you as a guest, and never should your guest get talked down too!

430pm on a Saturday wasnt crowded or loud by any means, and the outside patio was very intimate and allows well behaved dogs. This is a seat yourself joint. The drinks were phenomenal and the food was AMAZING. We ordered a Manhattan and an old fashioned, the brie appetizer, and the lasagna and the papparadelle bologase with creme brulee as a dessert. HIGHLY recommend for a nice date or a fun lunch. There were two servers for the patio and they didn't seem to communicate well with each other when we were being served, but everything was timely and delicious regardless. The creme brulee was devoured too quickly to take a picture.
