We recently visited Carmel and were craving Italian food, so we decided to try Allegro Pizzeria since it was conveniently close to our hotel—and we’re so glad we did! This charming local spot has a warm, low-key, inviting atmosphere that immediately made us feel comfortable. You can tell it’s a favorite among locals, not just tourists, which is always a great sign.
The restaurant was very clean, neat, and welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter, Evan, took wonderful care of us—friendly, attentive, and prompt without making us feel rushed.
As for the food—delicious! We started with the calamari appetizer, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I enjoyed the lasagna, rich and comforting with classic Italian flavor. The shrimp and scallop pasta in a butter and wine sauce was absolutely wonderful—fresh seafood and a beautifully balanced sauce. Our son loved his pizza, which was fun, cheesy, and hit the spot. We also appreciated the soup, salad, and fresh bread that rounded out the meal.
Parking was plentiful, though we loved that it was an easy walk from our hotel. If you’re visiting Carmel and looking for a casual, delicious Italian restaurant with great service, Allegro Pizzeria is definitely worth a visit!

This was the most delicious pizza, and bruschetta I’ve ever had! The owner and staff are so hospitable and genuine. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food and the service for their customers! I highly recommend this place.

Hadn't been to Allegro in a little while, but it used to be one of our family's go-to restaurants with the kids. They loved the make your own pizza kits (they roll out their own dough and add their own sauce and toppings, and the kitchen will cook their pizzas). It was always a hit, and everyone in the family loved the food and atmosphere.

Going back last week, I was reminded of how consistently excellent their pizzas are, and tried a variety of their pastas and salads (I'd only tried one or two pastas previously), and everything was really good. Allegro is a longtime fixture in Carmel, and their longevity owes to maintaining that unfailingly high food quality, great service, and welcoming atmosphere over the course of not just years, but decades.

Allegro Pizzeria is a favourite spot for myself and my Ohana. We like the relaxed atmosphere of sitting outside on nice weather days. The customer service and food are excellent and the prices for a restaurant in Carmel are reasonable. The restaurant is easily accessible and is definitely a family friendly restaurant. The owner is also friendly and appreciates his customers. Definitely a place I recommend and would gladly revisit.

Calamari was very good, pizza was not what I expected but had good flavor. However, the pizza was slightly undercooked. Food did not come out very quickly but did not take too long. Music was nice and added to a good atmosphere

Even though I ate alone, (on my lunch break), you made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Your positive attitude and smile will take you far in life, keep up the good work. Went here with friends and had an excellent time! Their kiddo loved the make your own pizza, and us adults thought the food was delicious. The chicken piccata is super yummy, and the chevre salad was AMAZING!

The worst pizza I have ever had in my life. Seriously even frozen pizza is better than this. Also WAY too expensive for a pizza this low in quality. If you are craving pizza, I would choose frozen pizza from the grocery store before choosing to get pizza from here. Waitress was nice though.
