Travelers from out of town looking for a local spot for pizza. Stumbled upon Allegro.

Ordered a buratta pizza and a spring salad.

Who makes a non-white pizza without tomato sauce? It was all dough and cheese. The dough? Reminded me of the 80s Pillsbury microwave pizza. It was so flavorless without the sauce. I didn't want to waste my money so I ended up eating as much as I could. My bowels rebelled!!

I can see why they only have a 3.9v avg rating. If they got a real chef or not used what felt like frozen/reheated pizza, there get a higher rating.

Take your chances with this place. I know I am never coming back to this place again.

The menu showed $3.75 for a cheese pizza slice. For a personal size pizza was a little under $10. I wasn't that hungry so I just ordered a slice. When my bill came I was shocked to see my slice cost more than the personal size! I asked the waiter about it and he said the $4.75 is the kid size. I got the adult size. There was no mention of kid or adult on the menu for the slice. I assumed at $11 that must be a small size pizza.

I over paid for a medicore slice of cheese pizza. I could have just gotten the personal size for less. Very deceptive.

I showed up in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. Nobody there except my server who was very kind. I hung out for a bit waiting for my pizza and what followed was me wishing I had paid more for it! Holy smokes. I got it to go but took a bite when I got to my car. This is a work of art and a delicious pie! Muchas gracias! I will be back sooner than later!

Just tried Allegros for the first time, had a pie delivered. All I can really say is the pizza quality is similar to gas station pizza...poor tasting ingredients, super greasy, cardboard...gross

We've eaten here several times and never had bad food and I feel like I'm pretty picky. Their Caesar salad is better than most restaurants. They have some really creative pizzas, one with gorgonzola and another with goat cheese that we like alot. I had a great eggplant panini today. The service was great.

Pizza is not good. Poor quality ingredients, mediocre dough. Trust the one star reviews. Also pay attention to how this place is responding to negative reviews.Service is good but doesn't make up for really bad expensive food.

We were looking for a traditional Italian place and we found it here! The thin pizza Arturo’s special was awesome and the sausage spaghetti was overflowing on the plate so the perfect place for a pre-race carb loading!!

Worst pizza ever! After lying about the price to get us to buy a full pizza instead of by the slice, we were handed the worst pizza I’ve ever had. The put burnt, dried, Parmesan on everything including the “garlic bread”, and pepperoni pizza. We also got a margatrita pizza that came with 3 basil leaves instead of arugula and one small Tomatoe slice per slice of pizza. For one terrible pizza and one order of stale disgusting garlic bread they had the audacity to charge me over 50$! The are many other great places to eat in the area. My advice is to save your time and money.

Ate there twice, dine in once, and take out the other. Fast, friendly service, good pizza, with solid crust, in a relaxed atmosphere. Not fancy but great for a quick affordable bite in an area where those attributes are hard to find.

I have been going to Allegro Pizzeria for years each time we visit the Monterey area. I was introduced to this place on a meetup because it is one of the few places that can handle a large group of hungry hikers. Now, we always go there after hiking Point Lobos. The 10" is plenty large for one person. If you plan to split a pizza, go for the 12" or larger. I like that the pizza is wood fired and always tasty. My favorite is the chicken pesto. This place is not trendy or loud. You can have a nice meal and actually hear the people you are talking with around the table.
