I wish I could give this place more than 2 stars. The 2 stars are for the food itself. The remaining 3 stars which I wouldn’t like to give it to them is because of the service we received. Most or all of the food businesses in United States or around the world run on their quality of services equally besides the quality of food in my opinion. I also believe that no matter how good the quality of food is if it comes with an attitude, ignorance or not in well mannered way then the actual fun of food diminishes. My wife and I were walking around the area and like many other foodie people we wanted to try something new and good so we stopped by. First of all the host said in a very rude way “we are very busy and this is the only table I can offer you to sit” although we noticed may be only 5 tables were occupied with guests and at least 7 or more tables were empty. I can understand may be they didn’t have enough staff to serve their clients that night but if that could’ve been the case it would’ve made more sense to share that information nicely with their clients not rudely. My wife ordered an entree along with some dessert and I ordered a drink. The second host came and told us that it’s not allowed to have that much food as everyone should get additional salad or something else. Although there was a sign on the main door that said. Party of 3+ must order one entree. So basically we encountered two hosts and both play a role in giving us an impression that either they are rude towards minorities (hate to say that)? Or may be they were FOBs (fresh off the boat) theirselves as the manners they showed weren’t what we experience on a delay basis on this land. Or they might had tons of bad experiences with their clients in the past hence they have turned into how they reacted? Regardless of all that and the conclusion in my head is, if you like to try somewhat good food you can give them a try but if you also like to have a pleasant experience with your family and friends hmm prolly look at a different place (my two cents). And make sure to check other people review about this place as we didn’t.

Atmosphere was good because of the crowd.
Order was rushed but service was too laid back. Server took a long time to get the cheque as well.
Food was mediocre and portion size was very small.
The only good thing about the restaurant were the customers. The whole experience was just disappointing.
Reading other reviews on google we expect a disrespectful reply.

Just ordered the Butternut squash ravioli to go. Second time here and was absolutely blown away by the great food the first visit and even more so on the second. Ordered the Butternut squash ravioli and it was amazing! Perfectly cooked, delicately sweet butternut filing with a hearty spinach ravioli and finished with a light sauce. Topped off the meal with a delicious tiramisu for dessert.

I’m so surprised that this restaurant only has four stars right now. I stopped in last night and found it to be such a lovely place, with lovely People. I Sat on the patio and enjoyed the fantastic food! I even ordered dessert. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the affogato was so yummy. I watched as who I presume are the owners talked with locals and provided just the right amount of service. I really enjoyed being here and would absolutely recommend it to others.

Met a girlfriend for lunch at Basil Seasonal Dining before a show at the Golden Bough theater. What a treat it was to eat on their lovely patio. We had amazing salads and beverages and great service.
It is a small place, but they have a full bar and a nice wine list. The salads are fresh and delicious. Both my husband and I had pasta dishes for the main course and we were happy with our choices. The server was attentive and congenial. Will go back for sure.

The pasta’s not homemade, honestly looks like something I make for a quick weeknight dinner. Paid 24$ for a salad the size of a side salad, which I would understand if the food was super fresh and great, but it’s not. If you’re a foodie/from any major city, I would recommend almost any other restaurant in Carmel before this one. I have absolutely no idea how it has gotten the high ratings it has.

Good food. Friendly service. The rating here is a result of service after the entree. After we finished out entree we probably waited 30 min to order dessert and finally gave up and had to go to the front to request our bill. We fell into that invisibility hole diners fall into at some places where you are invisible to them for a long time. Too bad and it started to make my husband super cranky. We will go back because the food was fresh and tasty, but not on a busy night. Oh — $28 for a for a glass of so-so red wine when it was barely 2 oz. Not a generous pour. I won't do that again there.
Poor quality of food, most restaurants in Carmel far exceed this one. The meal genuinely looked like something I would make on a Tuesday night after going to Ralph's, and was EXTREMELY overpriced. Staff was quite rude (and I'm from LA so that's saying something).
We had a wonderful meal. The Vegan Vegetable Plate is one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant. The flavors were so varied and wonderful. We brought our dog and she enjoy her meal as well. The service was attentive, not rushed but kept pace. The cocktail and wine menu was also very good. They have done their best to create a patio and we really appreciated the heaters. We will return!
Another wonderful dinner at Basil. As the sun set in Carmel, the staff kindly turned on the heaters to make our outside table comfy. Great recommendations for wine to accompany our main dishes. All delicious from starting salad to Affogato. Thank you.
